Sprained Wrist....

Philly D

New member
Ok, so I was playing basketball about 2 weeks ago and fell HARD and sprained my wrist. I have still been training and trying to block out the pain but it seems to be hindering my progress. I can't max out on bench due to the motion, and a few other lifts are extremely difficult to do due to the motion. My thought was to stop being such a pussy about it and lift through it and I thought the pain would be gone by now but it is not progressing at all, still the same. Just wondering if anyone here as had this happen in the past and what they did to get back too 100% as fast as possible. I've trained with other injuries but the wrist is very awkward, and just so everyone knows I have been using wrist straps to try and stabilize it. With my lift increasing so "fast" lol..... I'm am getting very frustrated!!!! Anyone had this experience??? Any remedies???

go and see a doctor and take the appropriate time off to recover. do you wanna make it worst?

You wrist should be better in 7-10 days. Just do legs everyday for a week... lol... When was the last time you did that?

It could be worse, my man. I am in week three of a broken arm. It's just now stable enough to allow me to workout legs and do light cardio. You should see how atrophied my shoulder is. It's disgusting.

Agree!!!

Time off is the way... baby it end of story. I got bad wrist that haunts me from time to time.(Hit by a car and 2 bad car crashs) When it starts hurting I ice after workouts and heat at night also I wrap on splint to keep it straight(when I can) If you take some time off and return to gym avoid movements that irratate the your wrist. I switch from barbell curls to hammer curls and from bench to pec deck untill I return to 100%.

IMO Traing hurt is counter productive.

I also take advantage of down time and switch out gym time for other healthy options. Go to a massage school and get a 1 hour massage for $20 bucks. Hit the sauna, water load, drink detox teas, and countless other things to take care of yourself.(Clean and baby your system) FUCK why not? women do it when the men are at work making money these women are living like rockstars! Ever wonder why women live longer than men???
THINK ABOUT IT!

Take care of that wrist bro!

Squat to ya teabag the floor!!!

Thanks for the feedback, my legs are in good shape as it is. I need to build my upper body more than anything, I played basketball in college so I've stayed in good shape thus far. I continue to run full court games about 1 - 1 1/2 hours a night at 3-4 nights per week. I'm just pissed, I was just starting to get into a "groove" with my schedule and now its fucked. I'm in 3rd week of cycling and don't want this to be a major set back. Just wondering if anyone has just said fuck it, and lifted through it. Even though it's not the smartest idea.

I had a buddy that hurt his wrist in high school, said fuck it and cut the cast off so he could play in the big game. He still complains of wrist pain today... over 10 years later!

Rest.

Agreed with everybody. You would be foolish to continue training and risk further injury. Go to the doctor and just work legs and cardio until it is healed.
