Speed/Reflex drills

hey, i was wanting to know if anyone knew any good speed or reflex drills. also, is there anything to help me practice this? i've seen in movies where they have the wooden pole that has like arms and when you hit it it swings and comes at you but i've neve seen one in real life. if i can't find one i'm just gonna get my brother to swing at me and let me try to dodge and block but before that i would like to increase my speed/relexes. thanks alot
 
clap water into ur face when you take a shower and try to keep ur eyes open. other than this, im pretty ignerant. I would say just get into fights with ur brother.
 
There are specific training modalities and drills to improve speed of movement and decision time, visual processing, choice selection, etc.

neuro reflex time is goverened by genetic envelope but most are never near their limits and have not begun to know the potential.

The information exists though--that should give you hope.
 
Mike Tyson would use I forgot what you call it, a speed ball.

I believe Ringside makes one.
You can make one by tying a rope around a baseball and hanging it.

You do not hit it, but try to evade it therefore increasing your reflexes.

You swing it and then you bob, and weave it and do a punching combo.
You goal is to evade the bag at the last possible minute.

I saw a Tyson bio where he used it and he was one of the best at bobbing and weaving in his heyday.

get beanbags or tennis balls and have you bro (or whoever) toss them at you while you try to dodge or parry
as you get better increase the force from a toss to more of a pitch (use the beanbags for the pitche of course and wear a cup + headgear at the least) and as you improve decrease the distance he stands from you
just some ideas
