I've got speed bench with bands going really well now.
Got the weight at about 45% of 1RM.
Got a blue band and a red band...
The bands go from one side of the bar, under the bench, and to the other side of the bar. I just slip the handle over the bar and run the band under the bar, then slip the other handle over the other end of the bar. Don't need collars cause the bands go right up against the weight and keep it firmly in place.
I explode out of the movement but my upper body does not lose weight or catch air because the bands prevent it. The bands get very tight at the end of the movement, allowing me to really explode while focusing on form.
This is working well for me so I wanted to share it.
