I'm happy I kept my PS3 after seeing Sony's e3 conference this year, most notably the Killzone 2 footage that is actual gameplay this time around, and still in pre alpha stage to boot.
You damn fanboi
Actually the gameplay footage in that trailer was very minimal and not much more impressive than say a Medal of Honor game. Killzone2 will be mediocre just like the first one they overhyped.

Actually they had a lot of good showings this year of games that will be here starting the end of this quarter; not to mention some exclusives over Microsoft this year, ie Unreal Tournament 3,
The dragon game where you battle in the air (dont know the name) looked really cool and unique.
I've never cared for UT games so that doesn't bother me.
Metal gear solid 4 MAY be a good game IF THEY EVER RELEASE IT. Seriously it will be Q4 2008 before that thing comes out. I've yet to see any actual gameplay.
Hate to say it, but Microsoft has Sony beat by a huge margin on games.
Perhaps 4-5 years down the road once developers become familar with the PS3's hardware it will do well, but until then it's going to be a flop.
Heck even Madden is running at 60 fps on the xbox and only 30 on the PS3. That stings.

A couple of other things- take a look at any gaming message board site (gamespot.com/forums, ign.com, etc) and you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere near the amount of complaints (if any) about the PS3 hardware compared to the Xbox 360. .
That's because only 100 people bought the PS3 !!!
hahahahahaha

Hell, gamespot.com has a page stickied specifically for 360 hadware failures with replies numbering in the thousands. Microsoft apparently took a big step backward in the hardware dept. from their previous console, while Sony took a big step forward with their's.
I agree. They tried to cut corners. After mine broke I was almost ready to write off Microsoft. Fortunately they did step up and fix the problem. (You don't offer a 3 year warranty unless you've solved the issue). Plus them offering free repairs really put my faith back in them.
The problem was with the CPU and GPU becoming extremely hot. It takes a while but over time the board they rest on begins to warp. This in turn breaks the sodering loose. They decided to add an additional heatsink and I hope brace the board better. Once the 65nm chipset is released it will help even more with the cooling.

Although even then I'd never heard of anyone I knew having a problem with the PS2, myself included.
Do you mean PS3?
Because there were numerous failures with the PS2 when it first came out.

Also, people like to cite that there's no good games for the PS3.......uh....like there was anything even close to Resistance: FoM in the 360's launch lineup, or the entire year following it until Gears of War showed up (or maybe a little sooner if you want to count Dead Rising). The PS3 will have as many if not more AAA titles available in its first year than the Xbox 360 will have in its first two.
Resistance and ? Resistance and ?
What else do they have?
What other games is PS3 going to have that won't also be on xbox ?
There's a reason why so many PS3's are sitting on the shelf. NO GAMES.
Hopefully that will change for Sony this fall. The price drop was a very smart move on their behalf.
