Sony drops PS3 price to $499, Microsoft expected to follow suit

I traded in the xbox360(seen too many peeps break) and got a wii.

The graphics are no where even close to the xbox360, I actually wouldnt call them "next gen". but what it lacks in graphics it makes up for in fun by leaps and bounds.

Granted I've only played a few games..so the graphics may be better on other games.

I don't think the Wii's graphics are even as good as the Gamecube's

I never played the gamecube but I played Prince of Persia last night and it looked like a playstation 1 game.

I'm not a total graphic whore but....for a game system to be this new it should have better graphics than what I've seen so far.

The Wii is a fad, according to a few developers who are already stumped as to what will give it longevity once they milked the controller gimmick.

Nintendo pry didn't want to spend the money to upgrade the graphics until they were for sure that the the new controller system would be a big hit

Nintendo execs said they were not focused on the better graphics

Yeah they're sure making money off it too. We'll see how long the popularity lasts though. I'd say the only reason it's lasted this long is because it's half the price of either of the others and people who are very casual gamers see it as a perfect alternative.

very true

price tag has alot to do with it.
Kind of a shame that Nintendo mainly aims at the young-kid demographic.

They have some titles geared towards adults.."Scarface" is a perfect example. I'm playing it now...definetly not for children.

dude, that's not a fad..........it's the evolution of video games!! you watch, next round sony and microsoft will have their own motion controllers. Hopefully nintendo builds on this and makes the next set of controllers even better............there's still market for regular style controllers...........but c'mon, I cant wait to play an FPS with a rifle controller and foot controls for movement.................mabye it'll get little fat kids off the couch and actually moving around while they play 12 hours of video games a day.

what? have you played the wii?
it fuckin kicks ass! The gameplay is sick.

i played it at my friends house with a few other buddies and it was intense.

its definetely not a system you get for graphics but for fun and gameplay it blows away all the other systems.
