The baby is good. He is big and very active and healthy. I have to get the amnio done on Monday and am scared of the pain. I went last week for an initial appointment with that doctor though and he seemed like he was very gentle. So, hopefully the results will reveal all is well with the baby.

I get a 3D ultrasound on that day, too. I'm looking forward to that. have you seen those. They are incredible. You can see the baby clear as day.

I htought they did away with the giant needle test. Normally needles don't bother me but a really long one in my belly makes me squirm a little.

No, they haven't done away with that. I can refuse it if I wanted to, but they want me to do it because I'm over 35. They test for down's syndrome, spinal bifida, etc.

The idea of a big needle into the uterus from the belly in sounds pretty freightening to me, but it is for the baby.

Hope it doesn't hurt too badly.

When my fiance went they said they could tell from a blood test or ultra sound or something like that. They said it really wasn't necessary.

What do you mean? you don't think I should do it? I'm going to ask him about the risks on Monday. There are risks, which is why they don't do them routinely in people under 35.

I think they can tell by some othr way. I squirm thinking about that shit. It just doesn't seem right but then again I was getting dizzy minutes before my little guy was born.
