So did Kimbo Slice win?

Round 1

Kimbo charges in, goes right for a takedown. Mercer grabs the cage but he goes down. Mercer up, they fight in the clinch. Big knees by Kimbo land. Mercer strikes but Kimbo answers with a combo and gets a double leg. Kimbo fighting, gets Mercer in to a choke. Mercer taps. Kimbo Slice wins by guillotine choke submission in round 1.

sorry but that excites me even if it wasnt that exciting...kimbo being more confident in his ground and submission game definately puts a smile on my face. now its time to see him against real MMA fighters.

i feel bad for mercer though :(

how did kimbo act? humble? classy? i sure hope so

i think thats giving him a lot of credit..

mercer was the first real fighter he's faced. the previous fighters he's faced have had training consisting of budweiser and marlboros.

definately his age is an issue, but he's also never taken a beating before really. older dudes in MMA have taking a lot of abuse in their careers, he's pretty much a rookie at what? 30-35? i really have no idea what his real age is.

i love watching all his fights. the dude is massive. one of the fights i saw posted his stats, but i'm too drunk to remember them or the name of the clip to relook it up.
 
what? I thought this was a standup fight only? I mean, props to kimbo for going to the ground........but something tells me he did that cause he wanted none of mercers hands. I had no idea this was an MMA fight.........heck why not, throw em in there, see what he can do? And to whomever said he could beat lidell......dude, he's a heavyweight.....a serious fucking heavyweight......of course he'd crush lidell......

kimbo got messed up when the boston cop took him to the ground. so i'm pretty impressed he got the KO from a submission.
 
How many times are people gonna bring up Gaston.

Gaston didn't do a damn thing to Kimbo. Not a mark on Kimbo while Gaston's face was DESTROYED.

Kimbo overpowered Gaston several times before gassing out.

That's all that happened. Kimbo gassed.

being in shape is a huge part of winning a fight. kimbo wasn't at that time. i love kimbo i'm not hating.

You're right. That's why every time someone wins because someone else got "gassed" there's an asterik next to it. Tool. I hate how people always come up with "he only lost because" BS. He lost. Deal with it.

And Liddell would destroy Kimbo despite the size difference. If just being in a higher weight class means you can't beat someone even if you have far superior skill, nobody told Randy Couture.

Mercer never stood a chance there. He was like an animal. I think someone who could hold out and tire Kimbo would beat him though.
 
kimbo destroyed mercer kimbo was alot stronger you could tell...

and he was absolutely ripped for the fight he came in at 239 the ring announcers were saying he usually weighs around 280.. and was gonna try and come into the fight at 260 but he came in at 239 and just looked shredded..

after the fight kimbo was talking shit to tank abbot and the cffc guy said they are gonna make the fight happen in september so its def something to look forward too... with some more training i think kimbo could def hang with some guys in ufc..

and he has a crazy huge following so i wouldn't be suprised if they put him in a decent fight..

that being said i waited for like 3 months for this fight and it was only 1:14 secs was kindof pissed would have liked a knockout but happy that kimbo won..
 
Ya he looked good. I think very few will be able to handle his first couple minutes but the danger to him is being over aggressive and someone who is a good bjj will sneak a submission on him. otherwise he will be hard to beat.

A well trained mma fighter who isn't 46 years old would do much better against Kimbo.

Wow, if we were in Jr. High that sure would have put me in my place. This fight didn't count because Mercer only lost because he's 75 years old.

I'm not hating on Kimbo, but he's got to do a lot more than win some fights in his back yard and beat up a 46 year old boxer who refuses to do anything but punch in an MMA fight to deserve the hype he gets. And losing to Gannon doesn't help, even if it doesn't count because he got tired (whatever that means).

Kimbo's main appeal seems to be that he's a big scary guy. Really, though, he's just a smaller version of Bob Sapp
 
I'm disapointed in that i was expecting blood and knock outs not a choke, but i guess thats how it goe's

uh, nobody compare kimbo to bob sapp...........Mr. Sapp would rock the casbaugh all over Kimbo. Sapp has fought the best of the best, yes he's lost to alot of them.......but he's also rocked ALOT of very good fighters, beat Hoost twice, that is no small feat.
 
sapp just has ungodly size and powder i remember he knocked out kimbo hitting him with the palm of his boxing glove..
