it's something cultural.........even with the very wealthy. I have no idea why either.......i would think of all people, black people would appreciate a hard working lower income position that relies on gratuity.....

peeps i know that work in bars and restaurants cuss (in private, of course) out both essence and bayou classic customers for the above mentioned reasons.

lol my wife used to work at cheesecake factory and her co-workers all hated having black people sit at their tables..

alot of hte rich ones dont even tip

its kind of sad because after it happens a few times they probably give bad service to all blacks thinking they are all like that.

I know a lot of waiters who hate having Marines sit at their tables because they do the same thing.. (I live near a large Marine Corp base).

They told me some of em would run up HUGE bills and skip out.

usually non-tippers seem to be the biggest pain in the ass customers as well

Enlisted Marines don't make much $$$.

The people I'm talking about are spending discretionary $$$ to watch a music event while vacationing out of town and staying in fine hotels.

i'm told they only time the essence crowd tipped well was when prince (or whatever the hell he calls hisself nowdays) played. he must attract a better, more affluent class of people?

Its all about the service for me. I ate at the spaghetti factory about 3 weeks ago with a friend and tipped the waitress $44 on a $16 meal. I drink a LOT of water, and my biggest problem at restaurants is always running out of water and they never come by enough to fill it up. I don't think my water got half empty the entire time I was there, she was the perfect waitress in my book, didn't hurt that she was cute too.
