Single women... WTF

One of my best friends met her now fiancé on a dating site a little over a year ago. She's hot but def a little crazy and he's equally freaking weird: clingy, possessive, dramatic past.
I think sites like eharmony and match in which you usually have the option to pay to get better service/real potential meaningful matches have a little bit less crazies, but POF is like a giant roulette... might as well just go to adult friend finder.....

So your good friends with my ex wives and girlfriends?!? Interesting....
Clearly you know how to pick em ;)

Dating sites not a good idea if you are looking for a relationship..just my two cents. The sites are set up to treat people like a searchable item, like electronics or clothing. So much more goes into dating/relationships/attraction/romance than multiple choice questions and a couple photos. Just my opinion... :)

My dad met his wife on Match.com and he's happier than he's ever been and from what I can tell, far more in love than he ever was with my mother who he (obviously) didn't meet online considering they met in the 80s.

I'm sure people talk before they decide to date. I doubt my dad was matched with my stepmom and was like "hey, she answered the questions well, we should be in a relationship".

I just think the free ones attract the crazies aka my friend and her fiance.

I doubt it's any different than meeting in person. In person you do the same things, determine if you're physically attracted then start talking to them to see if there's any type of connection/other attraction. I don't see how it's any different online. I doubt my dad was matched with his wife and thought "well she answered the basic questions well, we should be in a relationship". I'm sure people looking for something beyond sex talk and date for a while before thinking someone is relationship material.

IMO, (and this is just me) it is different than meeting in person because you spend too much time before you know if you're attracted to them. When you meet someone in person you've met them then you spend time getting to know them...not the other way around. I'm not saying it can't work... it's another way to set up a bunch of first dates but it's a time consuming way to date. I read somewhere that the average person spends 5 hours per week messaging potentials..thats after the huge time consuming screening process...and then spend only 1-2 hours actually dating...that's like driving 6 hours to see someone for an hour (and you're not sure you are going to like them) why would anyone do that...and how many times would you do that before you became bitter and gave up? It might be fun initially as long as you don't go in expecting a marriage without putting in some serious hours and understanding that you'll have the same amount of disappointment (if not more) in online dating than offline dating. Or if you go just for casual hookups and friendships..then it's a good tool.

I'm not saying online relationships can't work either... obviously not saying that at all...:D I just don't care for the dating websites that try to match you with people. Just my opinion of course ;)

POF is garbage...the site looks like ass, and so do the chicks. okcupid is 100x better.

as with any online dating site, it is what you make of it. everyone's down to fuck, but if you're actually looking for a relationship you're probably fat and ugly and out of luck.

Okcupid isn't better around here, it's worse. PoF has some trashy trailer types... OkCupid has a ton of married women and couples.
