Shows America have taken from other countries

A classic. It had to be better than original it was based on.

The English tend to be much more class conscious than Americans in my observation. A lot of "All In The Family" is completely out of touch regarding the issues that affect the working class and the working class perspective on it. "All In The Family" focused on the dynamic between "meathead" and Archie. The working class issues were completely incidental.

No lookin for flames or anything just curious how many shows have been taken from the UK or other countries and are/were big hits in the US?

Pop Idol
Big Brother
The Office

what else?

put all that shit on a boat and send it back to its point of origin imho. . .worst shit on tv. . .

"Three's Company"

This one surpised me, I thought it was uniquely American but was actually based on the British TV program called "Man About the House" Not only was the set-up the same; even the names of the characters were the same - Jack, Janet and Crissy.

i'm surprised more countries haven't created more, or better music too. The world pretty much relys on the US for entertainment.

Sorry hun, just not true, it is a very common misconception though.

Have you heard of Bollywood? They make far more films than the American Film Industry.
