Shoulder Surgery May Delay Next Cycle

DSPO

A few months ago I went to the Doc to see what was the problem with my shoulders. After 2 injections of Celestone and 6 weeks of Physical Therapy they have gotten better but still hurt a little. I know that I will need to scope them and the Doc will discuss this with me June 4. The only problem is that I am scheduled to start my summer cutting cycle June 2. I was thinking of doing the cycle then having the surgery during my off period.

The only problem is that I am limited on my Chest and Shoulder exercises.

Here are my questions:

1. Would you go ahead with the cycle and then have the surgery or just postpone the cycle for at least 4 months?

2. If I start the cycle can you give me some chest and shoulder exercises that will not bother me. I currently am only able to do dumbbell fly and side raise. No bench or Military presses.

Hey man i know how you feel-I have had two shoulder surgeries on both shoulders. Definetly wait until after the surgery. Doing the cycle might weaken the ligaments even more and make it worse. Plus if you do the cycle and then get the surgery you cant lift for about four months and it will probably be a waste. Stick to the dumbells because it will strengthen the shoulder more. Do higher reps with less weight for a couple weeks then increase the dumbells to a higher weight, but definetly get the surgery first.

That is what most of the bros over at AF are saying.

I do not even know what I was thinking when I asked such a dumb A#$ question.

Does anyone know if my doc is yanking my chain about only doing one shoulder at a time? I want both done the same day.

I guess I will just have to start injecting myself with peanut oil. The placebo effect is needed to calm the nerves..lol

I know that if he is going to scope you, it can easily be done (both joints) in one day. It could be something medical but I have my suspicion it is simply his schedule or financial. Remember the insurance companies pay him more for two separate procedures,

Where do you live, I know a few orthopedic surgeons, here and there,---been selling orthopedic, arthroscopy and spine implants since the late 70's

NONONONONONO!!!!!!! From what you describe of you shoulder pain, you might not even NEED surgery!!!!!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to www.t-mag.com and search for an article called "The Real Miracle Worker".

I can personally vouch for the effectiveness of the treatment. If you want more info and a phone number, e-mail me: [email protected]

Please do not just trust these doctors. Those fucking sons of bitches perform so many unnecessary surgeries!!! It's an ego thing: "My way of fixing the problem is best!", etc.

Hey bro let me tell you what happened to me. I had alot of shoulder pain and I went to the doctor and he said I needed surgery without trying anything else first. I mean they were dying to cut into me. I said fuck that and got a second opinion and that doctor laughed when I said surgery. I took 2 weeks off at the gym with some meds and felt great. GET A SECOND OPINION! Good luck.

Stone and Vanilla,

Not sure why you think that my situation does not need to be scoped...

I have had cortisone and Physical therapy for over 2 months. I ice them every day and I have laid off the weights. I have also had an MRI and
YES I NEED TO GET IT SCOPED.....:bawling:
