shoulder injury?

I was just putting together my next cycle but since I have been having some slight shoulder pains I just got an MRI on my shoulder. My doctor tells me that I have a 360 degree labral tear in my joint. Has anyone ever had a tear like this? Recovery? The pain did not seem intense enough to stop lifting.weird! Surgery here I come, how exciting.......

I had a labral tear and i worked out with it for almost a year. Then had surgery and still have shoulder issues to this day bc of it. I had it done in may of 2003.

hi
my name is............
it's my first time here and............
and i have an anterior capsular tear.

i'm in the same boat ...i guess working through the pain isn't always the best idea............ :bawling:

but i haven't accepted surgery as my only solution ...yet

Get acneman to put in his opinion on whether or not you should consider surgery without multiple opinions.

IMO you should check with other docs and look at other ways to fix the prob rather than jump into surgery.

prolotherapy.

i do get a little intense about doctors dont i :p
no surgery should be had without a second opinion or mabey two from doctors who know up front they will not be the one doin the surgery
period
doctors are no more ethical or moral than your average joe and they make a lot of money on surgeries
im gonna try to be more sedate when sayin how much i distrust docs in the futrure ;)

Prolotherapy uses a dextrose (sugar water) solution, which is injected into the ligament or tendon where it attaches to the bone. This causes a localized inflammation in these weak areas which then increases the blood supply and flow of nutrients and stimulates the tissue to repair itself.

that sounds fantastic have you tried it or know someone who has?

I just wrote a long ass response, then my computer shut down.

basically, I have had the same injury and surgury. It sucks, it hurts, and recovery is long. (a year for me.)

mine was not torn as bad as yours sounds.

if it is torn as bad as the MRI showed, the only thing you can do is surgury. a 360degree tear will not heal without it. Its called a SLAP repair.

feel free to ask any other questions, as i have had this same injury and repair

i'm gonna start a "my shoulders are phucked club"

first rule is ...we don't talk about surgery
second rule is ...we DON'T TALK ABOUT SURGERY

...and my i suggest third rule be that we don't talk about injecting sugar into our shoulders ...LOL (unless of course it's post workout and preceded by a lil slin) + i don't think mine needs any help in the inflamation dept ...LOL

the floor is open for any other rule suggestions
