shoulder cracks

Lately, iv'e been trying to fix my shoulders, since I guess i have/had excessive kyphosis and internally rotated humeri? but anyway, i've been doing exercises to pull my shoulders back and rotator cuff exercises. well i've had a cracking in both of my shoulders, and now they're cracking more. not much, but enough to notice. well, my shoulders are being naturally pulled back more, and they don't crack when i warm them up, but how to i stop the cracking when i don't warm up??

If your talking about joint poping (like cracking your knuckles), I'm not doc. so don't take my word to the bank but that would/should be the scar tissue hindering movment in the joint. I know ultra sound therapy and massage therapy will help this. I've had the massage therapy on my various joints (mainly my shoulder I had surgery on) and they just dig there thumbs in there and break up the scar tissue. Hurts a little when they do it but feels like knew after wards. Same thing for the ultra sound but less painful. The utra sonic waves are supposed to hit the scar tissue and cause it to break down. Some insurance's will cover massage therapy and such, you'll have to call yours and if they don't cover it ask if there is a loop hole or work around for you to get it covered. Such as a referal saying it is necesary from your family doc. Good luck.

Can you touch your hands behind your back and grip them together? If not it's most likely do to a lack of flexibilty (my shoulder starting feeling tight/popping in highschool and this was the reason I discoved much later). Basicly if you can get your finger tips touching you pull your lower arm up and it'll do a good very intense stretch... if you can't you'll have to lean your elbow against a wall trying to raise it on your back on pushing it out from your body. You can use the wall while gripping too to aid in the stretch (I do and I've actually made significant progress, almost touching my right arm now... had it a few months back but the flexibilty is so touchy!!!).

with you moving your shoulderblades back to their normal position don't be surprised if you hear some tendons rubbing from the laxity of your overstretched/extended muscles. when you warm them up you get the tension back and they don't rub as much.
