out of control fires raging thru santa barbara, CA...the third time within one year. these fires will need FEMA assistance for the victims, and everyone's insurance rates will rise to compensate what the companies will spend to pay off their insured victims in this area.

should this fire prone area be rebuilt? should your tax dollars be spent in an area that is prone to burn....again....and again.....and again?

(this is a spoof of the IDIOT congress member who asked if new orleans should be rebuilt after the United States Corps of Engineer's faulty designed, built and maintained flood control system failed and flooded most of new orleans immediately after the city survived hurricane katrina's wrath).

What is the percentage of people in Santa Barbara vs N.O. who are gainfully employed that pay into the system that funds FEMA and other Fed agencies and that carry the required insurance on their homes vs. the deadbeats that rode Uncle Sugar's teet?

the United States Corps of Engineer's faulty designed

Thought the Corps was only funded to build CAT 2 & CAT 3 levee protection systems in the N.O. vicinity. Why wouldn't they be funded to "overengineer" the surrounding protection. Hope the Fed's don't start putting Fort Knox's security contract out to the minimum bidder :worried:

nah ... mostly A/E contractors

and maintained

wrong again ... local levee boards maintain levees, e.g. Jeff Parish on the west side of 17th street canal and N.O. on the east side

I wonder if those poor people in Santa Barbara will be living off of the government 4 years from now.....

for the thicker heads here, this thread is a JOKE...a parody on congress and some of it's "distinguished" members.

for the thicker heads here

Hey ... I resemble that remark :)

btw, every homeowner I know personally made out MUCH better after Katrina when they collected on personal insurance, FEMA, and Road Home funds

including moms :)
