For the record, RI is the most Italian dense state in the country. More than CT. More than NY. Yes, NY.

You don't have to be "hard" to grow up around those types of Italians. No matter what your background is, being 1st generation means being raised by off-the-boat parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, friends...like KB and I. The fags you see in clubs aren't what we represent. Every relative I know came here not to start a goddamn crime family, but to work hard and stick to the morals they were taught and grew up appreciating in their country. The true Italians you see are hard working, loyal, loving, stubborn. Granted, there are times the Italians on this board will make Godfather, Goodfellas, and Bronx Tale references because SOME elements of that culture are parts of our everyday lives. I know plenty of muvgas who look like characters right out of Sopranos.

btw i would piss all over the gotti boys faces if i could

they're a disgrace
yes, they are. I can't even watch them.

I am only part Italian, and the Italian who started our family was the guy who came over and started up Estes Park in Colorado and then went to the Goldrush...etc. So, it was a LONG time ago when he came over on the boat.

My first love was a guy named Guissepe Rudolph Georgini. We got engaged and lived at his parents when he was in law school. To say that his parents were right off the boat was no exaggeration. They were fantastic people and hated the mob stereotypes and Italian boys who acted hard. His mom spoke 6 languages and had attended Oxford. His dad was a hoot and sold insurance. DAMN, the food was good. I can now make a mean gravy, by the way. Miss that boy, still. Things didn't work out, but we were together for about 5 years.

I just think there is so much more to the Italian heritage.

Agreed. I think sense making is the key to good pwnage. For instance, HR tried to go the "Gotti" route. Where is the sense in that? We have a country bumpkin trying to tell a full-blooded Italian that he is trying to be Italian? Also, I haven't spoked my hair for maybe 2 years.

I love good pwnage. Well thought out pwnage above and beyond 3rd grade mentality. We haven't seen that round here in long time
wtf we havent seen it in years.give me some credit here.

Guess you missed the question mark in that sentence. I know they don't teach you grammar lessons in Goodfellas, so I shouldn't have expected you to catch that.

bro, this is more nonsense, unless you were completely kidding (in which case it still falls short). putting a question mark up in that post doesn't take away from its tone of rampant assumption. that's the way i read it, not least because of your other posts directed towards him.

get off the goodfellas thing...just because he's a big fan of that movie, and the godfather, and bronx tale, and boatload of other movies relating to italian american culture, doesn't mean he's a stereotype. you're unduly marginalizing him. that doesn't equate to ownage (even though some will say so, perhaps even giving you karma to that effect), nor is it an approach worthy of you.

i hope you don't think i'm taking his side simply because of a two-fold bias (being a guy and being an online friend of his for several years)...although i do have that bias.

meh.

I'm not marginalizing Italians. Hey, look at me. Can't you sort of tell I'm Italian?...lol. I think that KB just sometimes makes Italians look bad with that "I'm a tough guy" act. He is just young and thinks it is cool, I guess. My bet is that his Italian parents would shake their finger at his behavior, too. It isn't a credit to his heritage to try to act like the only khaki wearing, tennis playing mobster in Rhode Island. Essentially, I think if he would cut that shit out, he would be a real winner. He is smart and has a fun side. He should just not TRY SO HARD.

I also think he crosses the line in degrading women for his own ego stroking. Every day is a new post about some "broad" he is going to have sex with. He talks about them as conquests. He takes pictures without their permission and posts them up for attention. It is just embarrassing.

That is all.

You can take his side. No sweat. It isn't that I hate KB. I just find the bragging and posturing tiresome.
