i have a vigorous 3 day fitness test, (ending with a 5 mile timed-run) coming up in 2 months. I have to take this test, cause I am over 32 yrs old, and the L.E. job I am up for requires it for us "older folks"

I've been "on" for over a year, and have put on some quality muscle.
However; I now need to not just cut-up, but I need to "slim-down" so I can run, jump, etc without blowing out my knees.

Is it time to hit up the PCT?????

I'm looking for any suggestions......

Good luck to you. I'm a grad of Detroit Police Academy '82. Great life experience. Although all the guys I worked with couldn't run 50 yds, they were good shots, though. Have you thought about going into HRT mode with some test and EQ?
 
I recently switched to 500mg Test E/400mg EQ Cyp

should I drop the test a little more?

Isn't HRT like 250/week?

no, not really. Just cut the calories, increase cardio, do higher rep training. More warmup and stretching time is also advisable
 
EQ helps big time with endurance. Makes you pretty hungry but with the increase in red blood cell you can totally notice the difference. Glucosamine and Condroiton is a good supplement for your joints if your knees are bad

Nah, I wouldn't, but like you I stays on. I think the EQ is the ticket for the running. We had to run 3 miles for finals, after 12 weeks it was cake.

best way to get used to running long distance is to run stares,use the stare master.running stares is 10 times as hard but it uses all the muscles you use for
long distance running.when ever I had a pt test coming up I would run stares for a few weeks and I always dropped my fun time by a few minnits.you can run stars for like 45 mins and get the same work out as if you would have run for twice as long.when you run stars over and over and over then go run on flat ground your like fuck this is easy.

take your time running down the stars so it dont kill the knees and blast on your
way up.I find going to a stadum is the best.

for the joint pain.the night before the run force hydrate and take a motren 30 mins before you run.
 
Eq is the shit when it comes to endurance for sure.
It's not that complicated just start doing cardio 3 -4X per week, jogging and such and you will be ok. Your BF will drop too which helps

Just found out about this "additional" test......

I will be switching up my workouts starting tomorrow...........

I was hoping to stay around 295 @ 6'7"
but I'm thinking of giving my joints a break and dropping to 270........
 
I'm goin' for 260...................

screw it..........just as long as I can keep some quality muscle.........

If anyone calls me "slim" when I'm done - I'll have to hit up a cycle of 3grams/week.....

I have to do physically readiness test every six months, military, and i usually run with eq and test. i have to do 1.5 miles in 10 mins, not a challenging task but when i'm carrying all that extra weight, that feels like a marathon. so 6 weeks before i gotta run i start doing sprints 4 days/wk and then a long slow run 1 day out of the week. I drop a couple of lbs reak quick and get my wind back in about 2 weeks. I do the same to get ready for conditioning in the semi pro football league I play in.

I don't blame him one bit for trying to be in top condition. It could make the difference in saving his life....or yours. They called us "pigs" back in the day, but that never mattered when I did CPR on a two year old and saved him, or having to tell a mom that her son had been killed by a truck riding his bike. Not an easy job, any edge you can get could make a difference.

I won't defend what I do - but I've given up a lot to make this a "lifestyle" change.

I could "limp" into the job and do it 1/2 assed - but as you said, lives are at stake, and I just try and do whatever it takes to be in the best possible shape.

So far, I haven't seen/heard of a better way.
 
There are a lot of fucked up cops out there, no doubt. But I will always defend the good ones and doing some juice to keep you in top shape doesn't need defending. I would do the exact thing you are doing, bro. More power to you. I'm not a religious person but there's a saying that's something like this;" God Bless the peacekeepers for they are God's chosen."

The problem here is that I don't do gear. So I'm not open to alot of the community here. But I don't do gear because I work with the feds, Here in Washington DC....

I started with state gov't work... Now I do federal gov't work. So I would say I'm more then just a blip on the radar screen.

Who are you training to do police work for anyway???

Bro I have really been looking at the gear endurance thing. Ive chatted with a few fighters and competitive wrestlers who need endurance and who also use gear. You DEFINATELY need to cut those doses in half! Eq is good for endurance but NOT at 400mg/wk. look at the doses it is given to race horses at. It is much lower per bodyweight than what we use. The red blood cell boost is good for endurance but BAD when taken too far and will hinder endurance after a certain point!

Go with Test 250 2x a week and EQ 100mg 2x a week.

Definately do a search on EPO!!! Endurance guys love it!

Start going high reps / low rest with the weights. Do more high rep bodyweight excersizes.

Start jog/run/walking 3x a week up to 5x a week as fitness test nears. Increase run time decrease jog/ walk time as you near test.

STRETCH everyday!
