i fear ive fallen into a trap and just need advice. ive been on and off sleep medications for a year now such as ambien and lunesta....but when i get my script, one pill does nothing for me. live been to the point where ive taken 3-5 lunesta pills in one night and 10 ambiens. its fucking ridiculous. and when i dont have them ive tried xanax to sleep but that has gotten worse so i got off of that but had serious withdrawal effects (panic attacks) for over a week and now ill go 3-4 days with not one hour of sleep at all. i dont know what to do, my life is turning into hell and i cant help it. ive tried all the relaxation techniques and herbal and otc remedies such as melatonin valerian root and tylenol pm and they do nothing. i go days without sleep and i feel like i wanna slit my wrists. my quality of life is terrible. i quit my job because of this and my workouts are horrendous and im getting nowhere. has anyone ever gone through anything like this? if so any advice would be appreciated.

Well, welcome to the world of addiction. My wife went through it and I am a psychotherapist and have worked with many others who have gone through it.

You can try D-Cell R/8 from Jupiternutrition.com it has worked well for my wife.

I woudl also recommend that you see a therapist and figure out what was behind your insomnia to begin with... also a doctor to check for things like sleep apnea (the sleeping meds make that worse by the way).

This doesn't necessarily make you a drug addict but you are on a very slippery slope.

If you are serious about cutting your wrists... don't! It will not solve your problems - life has too much to offer to let it go so easily.

For a little cinema therapy you might watch "office space".

Blessings,

im seeing a therapist now and i took a sleep study and they never found sleep apnea, just that i couldnt get past a level 2 sleep. now im taking about 75 mg of seroquel mixed with .5 mg of xanax at night for sleep. things are getting a little better, just the cold turkey thing was bad for a while. i never thought id be an addict, but i let myself become one and im gonna hav4e to deal with it. occasionally ill mix those with some valerian root and melatonin for a deeper sleep and it helps, but i dont know how good that is. im still scared shitless about what is going to happen to me in the long run.

MS,

Sorry to hear about your situation. I wish I know what to say other than speak to your doctor right away (it appears you may already have).

When ever I read about Bros. having a hard time, all I can think about that that could be me.

I'll pray for you.

PEACE

ive had problems sleeping all my life, and I'll tell you what helps me: pop about 1200-1500mg of magnesium and about 600-900mcg of melatonin (both can be found at any drugstore or walmart)...puts me right out...good luck...

OMg! This sounds so familiar. I am 27 and have had sleeping problems since as far back as I can remember in junior high. I have also tried Ambien, Lunesta, Valerian, Sleep teas, melatonin, accupuncture, ect. Fucking Ambiens dont do anything except make me feel a little stoned. Tylenol Pms would wire me. Sounds like we have the same problem. I lose between 1-3 nights of sleep a week. I have went to 2 sleep docs. What are they good for? Your looking for an answer and help. They write more sleeping pills which makes it worse.
If you go out at night does it make it worse for you? If you travel are you awake the entire time? I wonder just how similar your symptoms are.
I have also done therapy. Nothing seems to work. I dont ever feel like slitting my wrist or anything but can totally understand your frustrations. And it makes training that much harder.
I just found out today though that I am borderline hypothyroid and my body is also producing to much testosterone. I am having everything checked because Im like you in the sense of...I want some answers.
Have you had a hormone test ran, cortisol, tsh, dhea? You may just want to.
I went to a naturopath and I think I am finally figuring out what is going on.
Maybe you can find a good one and do a saliva test just to see if everything is normal because these things do have a MAJOR impact on your sleep and stress levels.
Please keep me posted.

its relieving to see im not the only one but i feel for u also. ive had a few physicals, sleep tests, and have seen a psychiatrist that wont do shit except try prescribing me pills and now im all fucked up from them. i never will kill myself over this but when it escalates i certainly feel that way. i never go out anymore either because all i think about the whole night is whether or not ill sleep or not, or im just too tired to do anything. its ruining my social life as well. ive lost friends, pushed away females that were interested and pushed away my job because i feel like im trapped and unable to escape this. maybe ill explore some of those options you mentioned. thanks for posting.

hii
try to find out the cause why you are not able to sleep
try some natural exercises, yoga, meditation, etc
and third thing find out more about the medications you take such as drug intake, reactions etc, from sites like www.drugdelivery.ca, etc
thanks

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I know what you mean.
Okay, here is the deal, I just found out that my body is not producing enough t3 and t4 so I have to take a pill now. But going with a natural instead of synthetic. I am hoping this is the cause of the problem. Hav had insomnia since I was a kid. I will let you know after using the pill for a while Supposedly this could cause insomnia.
Look into your hormones. BUt find a Naturopath who is good and will run a complete hormone panel as well as cortisol, thyroid (full) not just tsh. Doctors suck..they never find anything cause they dont really take the time.
Sorry to hear about your situation.
I know its frustrating when everyone around will say hey, do yo drink caffiene, um, do u do this or that? Your like, wtf, u have no idea everything I do to try to stop it.
Good luck cutie.

playmatesky, your right its funny people have no idea they say shit just like that to me like "drink milk before bed" or "take a bath" or "avoid caffeine" and they dont know how easy they have it when its not a major life problem. not that i dont appreciate it that people are trying to help, im just frustrated that its become so beyond that. im taking your advice i think and im gonna see a naturopath since ive seen everyone else. let me know how your situation is workin out i hope it helps u. :)
