Serious knee problems looking for some advice

I'm really having some serious troubles with my knees. I've been diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis 2 years ago. It is now to where I am dibilitated. Walking in general is very painfull. Climbing or walking down stairs is excrutiating. Has anyone had a surgery to help this. I've already had 6 cortizone shots in my knees, they don't help. Any advice or input would be great.

U live near Denver by chance?

I've had joint problems and cissius has helped me out a lot.

Your condition sounds a bit more serious though. If I am correct cortozone shots degenerate the area and over the long run are bad (at least I thought that). I know some good people in here have more experience with this.

This is gonna sound dumb, but the more uncomfortable shoes/boots I wear, the better my knees feel. When I get the squishy shoes/boots that make my feet feel good, my knees cry out in agony.

Dunno if this will help you much, but it's something to think about.

I finally broke down and got some good red wing boots with some custom inserts that you bake in the oven and then put them in your boots to fit to your feet.......man they were a HUGE improvement. Best $200 I ever spent.

I hear Red Wings are awesome, but my dumb ass hasn't gotten a pair yet :(

I suppose I should, instead of wasting my $$ on those silly gel inserts. The bad thing is, my boots have to have the green patch in case I need to go to Canada. Dunno if the RW company offers that safety spec.

as simplistic as it sounds

Deca Durabolin at 200 mgs a week via script.......

takes about 3 weeks to kick in full blast do to half life compounding

regarding the green dot, I have no idea if they have it or not but if anyone would, I bet they would. I'd hit their website and look, they must have a thousand different types of work boots.

I have joint issues as well and asked my doc about a Deca script and she said it was illegal to prescribe Deca!! She said she would prescribe me HGH and Test so I didn't complain!! LOL

we talked about this before and here's what works for me. . .

1. http://www.supartz.com/ i get these injections every six months and

2. http://www.bionicare.com/kneehome.htm i wear this on both knees every night while i sleep

the combination of these two things has changed my life. . .i have no articular cartilage in either knee. . .the bones have been rubbing together for quite a while. . .a couple/few of years ago i finished destroying my right knee while running from bees (ran over them with my mower). . .it got so stiff and painful i could hardly walk. . .i got it scoped, the doc cleaned up the loose cartilage and a couple of days later gave me the bad news. . .i need two new knees. . .to try and put it off for a while he started me on the two things above plus physical therapy. . .it's been a while now and, although i'm not squatting 505lbs like i used to, i can do 225lbs to 90 degrees (maybe a little more once in a while) without pain. . .i don't run anymore either, but other than that, my activities have pretty much returned to normal. . .

i also take glucosamine (sulfate) and flax oil everyday. . .definitely helps, but it took a year before i noticed a difference. . .100 to 150mg of deca ew will definitely make a difference too. . .

pm me if you wanna talk, i'll shoot you my cell # and we can compare notes. :)

Get into some homework on an MD specializing in sports medicine. They seem to have their stuff in one sock. I've been to one who said I need to consider a replacement and the next said it was far from likely!

It is like a ski boot insert. You "bake" them for about 15 minutes on 150 degrees I think it was and then put them in your show when warm and put the boots on and lace them up. You then stand there for about 5 minutes and they conform to your actual foot. It's like having a boot made exactly for your feet without paying the prices of boots like "Whites". They take a mold of your foot and make a boot for you but they cost hundreds of dollars.

I asked if you lived in Colorado because if you are serious about getting your knee issues taken care of, this is the guy to see. I lived there for a few years and you always saw pro's walking around in their offseason getting him to work on them. From all I have heard he is one of the best knee guys in the world.

His clinic is here http://www.steadman-hawkins.com/

I don't know what your problem is exactly and he may not be able to do something but it sounds like you will need some serious work but I'm no dr. It can't hurt to look into it and maybe email or call them to see before going all the way out there? You could always get your local dr to get all kinds of info and x rays (if you haven't already) and then send your diagnosis to them to see if they can help you.

Good luck man, I know knee pain can really suck. When your knees or back hurt, everything hurts.

I hate deca gives me painful pumps for some reason. Like a terrible case of shin splints, can't fuck with it. But thanks for the advice

I gotta spread some love before I can hit you up. But I'll get around to it. Thanks again.

Well if you are that bad off, I would consider getting my knees fixed worth the drive.

I added the page to my favorites. Thanks again
