Serious health issues but still need help

I'm a male, 22, 6'1" 250 lbs with hypertension since I was a young kid. I just started taking care of it now by taking norvasc 10mg daily. I'm probably near 35% body fat and need serious help to get my weight down. An EKG showed that my heart is working very hard and getting larger. This concerns me because I can't take any supplements like NYC, Stack, or anything else that will raise my blood pressure or put pressure on my heart.

In the mornings I take Norvasc, Finasteride (i'm growing blad too), Multi Vitamin, Vitamin C 500mg, and Ginko Biloba. I plan to walk/jog for 30 minutes in the mornings 3 times a week and lift medium/heavy weights 3 times a week.

Diet:
I'll be mostly eating eggs, tuna, chicken, cassinated protein powder and egg protein powder. I have read about Atkins and CKD. Things in my diet that are tough to avoid are rice (I'm asian), pitas, and coffee but I'll try my best to avoid them.

Please help me out and give me some ideas on how I can lose the weight and avoid the health risks.

Mr X will be the one to help you.... he's the real dieting guru around here.

But for the moment, the advice I would offer is this: Don't do any diet too extreme. CKD and Atkins, as well as being very difficult to maintain are quite extreme.... and I've read that rapid weight-loss can raise blood pressure. Which isn't what you want.

Anyway, I won't prescribe anything because yours looks like it might be a fragile situation. Wait for some more knowledgable types to post.... but again, don't do anything too radical, and whatever you decide, be sure to take it slow and steady. Good luck.

I'm glad to see you've taken the path to getting on track, we are all here to help........just make sure you NEVER give up :)

I would suggest doing a balanced diet: (33%protein/33%carbs/33%fat)

This is what your protein/carb/fat/cal breakdowns will be for the day:

2750 calories a day
220 g protein a day
220 g carbs a day
100 g fat a day

If you eat 6 meals a day (as you should try to do): -per meal-
37g protein/37g carbs/16g fat

My friend, Atkins is NOT the best diet when you're over 30% bodyfat because it tends to send your body into a catabolic shock (not literally) but physically. Plus, the balanced diet will keep you full, this diet is most similar to what you hear about the ZONE diet.

-Protein sources: egg whites, tuna, lean beef, chicken breasts, protein powder, turkey breasts
-Carb sources: Yams, sweet potatoes, green veggies (a lot :)), brown rice (I notice you like rice), pasta, oatmeal
-fat sources: Flaxseed oil, MCT oil, Olive oil, Fish Oil, Walnut oil try to get a mix of all of them and add some Nuts like almonds daily

Websites to help you count calories:
www.fitday.com
http://elitefitness.com/articledata/calorie.html

As far as training: -start SLOW-
cardio: Walk in the morning (JUST walk, trust me) for 30 min 4x a week
weights: train 3x a week w/ light-medium weights (as you mentioned)

Supplements you CAN use:
R-ala to help shuttle glucose into the muscle
Fiber - psyllium husk fiber

you can fiber PH: www.beyond-a-century.com
Rala: www.anabolicfitness.com AF store

R-ala: you can take 100mg r-ala w/ 50-70g carbs (it's not much r-ala but its' a step up)

Good luck and never give up :)

Thanks for everyone's response. I have formulated my diet and excercise regime here. Tell me what you think:

6:00 AM - Walking/jogging for 30 minuntes

6:30 AM - Protein shake:
(1 scoop 100% egg protein + splenda + fiber cereal in skim milk) + ECA stack

8:00 AM - Coffee w/ A scoop of Protein Factory's (80% Cassien Protein, 20% Milk Protein Isolate)

11:00 AM - 1st half of Lunch: Skinless Chicken or Tuna with green veggies. Chicken will be stir fried in olive oil or baked. Tuna will most likely be eaten with boiled eggs.

Noon - Coffee

2:00 PM - 2nd half of Lunch: Half serving of lunch I had at 11:00 AM

5:00 PM - Workout - Medium to Medium/Heavy weights. (Four time a week)

7:00 PM - Basketball for 30 Minutes
Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein Shake - 2 scoops

9:00 PM - Before bed shake - Protein Factory's (80% Cassien Protein, 20% Milk Protein Isolate) with OPtimum Nutrition Glutamine Powder.

oh sorry, it's not ECA. It's called Mega Fat Burners from Optimum Nutrition and it does not contain effedrine. This is what it has:

Citrimax..500 mg
L-Carnitine..100 mg
Choline..400 mg
Inositol..200 mg
Chromium Picnolate..400 mcg

Also Mr. X, thanks for the links. I'll try to increase my calorie count some more.
