I love the job.
People think that its Visa/Mastercard who have the "high rates" and it just isnt true. IT the actual processors who move the money tht are doing the ripping off.

HUH? Roll call for TOMORROW? OK, I probably will NOT be on tomorrow anyway. Lovely weekend planned. climb ladder to fix window on 2nd floor. Move ladder to climb roof in front of house. Strip more shingles, put down freeze paper, haul shingles to roof and hammer. Good think I have a tech job during the week or this would kill me.

I was in college and we hired a stripper for party. I paid for it on my credit card (stupid) The fee was $100 for the hour and she got about $200 in cash tips from the 30 or so people there, maybe more cash than that.
Anyway, the fee is $100, pretty simple, but since I'm using a credit card she says there is some extra fee because they charge her. I say that is fine, so the total is 110.50. She pulls out a portable card swiper and takes an imprint, takes my california driver's license number, and I sign it. She gives me a carbon copy piece, or maybe not, I honestly do NOT remember if she gave me a copy or not, I'm thinking not.
So I get the charge, its 710.50!!!!!!!!!! 600 dollar more!
I call the credit card company and they reverse the entire charge, I told them no, the 110.50 is legit, but it was entered wrong. They just reverse the entire thing and call it fraud.
a month later they reinstate the charge because the stripper sends them a fax of the sales slip. Sure enough, it says 710.50 BUT the 7 was OBVIOUSLY changed from a 1 to a 7!!!
I Call up my company and the lady on the phone pulls up the fax copy of the receipt and sees that it looks bogus, and I've never disputed a charge before so she sends it to their fraud department.
They decline my request and I ended up paying the full amount. That was a SHITLOAD of money for me at the time, I was 21, my RENT was only $350 a month. What the fuck. Those fucking bastards, I'm still pissed at them.
I filed a BBB complaint against the company that showed up on my bill, and the credit card company said I could take the stripper to small claims, but fuck that, it would take more time than it was worth.
Some of the frat bros at the party handled that situation at a subsequent party. They made a special request for that stripper. That's about all I can say on that, I was specifically told NOT to be present at that one. That girl never worked as a stripper again though, fucking whore.;

SOme tips:
1 - Never enter PIN for check/debit purchased as you have no product protection
2 - NEVER use DEBIT for hotel reservations/damage deposits or for gasoline
3 - when you book a hotel use VISA only....MC doesnt not allow for credits EVEN if you cancel the reservation in a timely manner

And yeah I wish I could have done something more to get that 600 back, it was insane to me that she was allowed to do that, it obviously wasn't the first time. Total scammer.
But scammers get what is coming to them. The company that came through on the credit card had a residence as its business address, and it wasn't hard to find!

FUCK NO ! Got to Vermont and it was raining, and leaking through the partial openings in the roof. set up to catch the water, but Saturday AM rain became worse and leaks multiplied. Water everywhere and ceiling tiles fell. 2nd kitchen floor is finished and the 1st floor will have to have the ceilings painted again (just did them last year). I got to climb the f'n ladder in downpours to cover the roof with plastic. Now I just hope the wind doesn't pick up and rip the plastic off before a contractor begins repairs or I get my ass up there to put the new roof on.
