I've been doing this lately and I've seen awesome results

my back workout looks like this:

BB rows: 1x10, 1x8, 3x6
DB rows: 1x10, 1x8, 3x6
Pull downs: 1x10, 2x8, 2x6
Cable rows: 1x10, 1x8, 1x6
BB Shrugs: 1x12, 1x10, 2x8
SLDL: 1x10, 2x8, 1x6, 1x5

anyone else feel like its beneficial to do rows before pulldowns?

it will let the middle back work harder as the arms are fresher. then your lats get hit better, but at a lighter weight because the arms wont take as much of the load, being prefatigued.

i prefer to pullup before row, but only because im trying to get my pullup rediculously strong.

Why SLDL at the end ?

uh ok about the SLDL, dont think they are all that necessary on back day, and I seperate my days between width and thickness!!!

and really the only thing that matters is the first part of your statement "...getting grait results from my current routine!" if it aint broken dont fix it!!!

Peace

SLDL at the end because they're too brutal to do at the beggining. I've tried it before and just have been too wiped out to do everything else 100%

Why not do them when you do legs? But, i understand putting them at the end.

I do regular deadlifts when I do legs along with squats. Them fitting into that routine would be brutal too, haha.

So why not do SLDL on leg day and reg Deads on back day. Makes more sense no?

By the way I have also started doing deads and squats more toward end of routine for same reason you said, I am to tired after them to work out properly....

if your width is fine for your back then i can understand why you have more rowing, but if your lats arent proportionally wide with your thickness, id do CG pulldowns, just a suggestion

Hammer high row
Hammer low row
chins
rear delts
deadlifts
cardio

I spent my first 5 years of training doing only pulldowns because that was all I had access to. Now I do 75% rowing movements to even myself out.
