Routine Suggestion

I am 19 years old and only weight 135 lbs. My goal in working out is basically to just get in shape and get cut. I do not want to build a lot of muscle mass. I just want to get a lean and tone body. I also would like to gain about 25-30 lbs but I can handle my diet on my own, I just need advice on a routine. If anyone can point me to a routine that would work for me or give me any suggestions I would appreciate it.

If you dont wana build much mass just wana loose fat and get in shape, swimming is your best bet, swim as much as you can and swim properly, not just doing cannon balls and shit like that with friends, swim lengths of differant strokes. Crossfit might work well too. Crossfit workouts are short and brutal, some as short as 6 mins. You do crossfit 3 days on 1 day off and everyday there is a new workout posted on the crossfit website, follow this and do the workout no matter what.

Crossfit workouts are usually one of the following:
- circuits of pullups, dips, handstand pushups, tuck jumps, thrusters and olympic lifts
- 3 or 5 sets of heavy back squats, shoulder presses, front squats, deadlifts or olympic lifts
- running for time

obviously I am ignoring you saying you want to gain 25-30 lbs but that is because gaining that much weight is alot of muscle mass & if you wana stay cut and will take months, not sure if you realised that or not...

Welcome to CrossFit: Forging Elite Fitness

crossfit workout of the day for today is:
Walking lunge 100 ft.
21 Pull-ups
21 Sit-ups
Walking lunge 100 ft.
18 Pull-ups
18 Sit-ups
Walking lunge 100 ft.
15 Pull-ups
15 Sit-ups
Walking lunge 100 ft.
12 Pull-ups
12 Sit-ups
Walking lunge 100 ft.
9 Pull-ups
9 Sit-ups
Walking Lunge 100 ft.
6 Pull-ups
6 Sit-ups

although there are differant ways you can adjust that to your level of fitness, for example you could half the waking lunge distance or do fatman pullups instead of normal pullups...
