Rotator Cuff Surgery

RaoulDuke..

New member
I had rotator cuff surgery last october-- anterior inferior and posterior inferior lebrum repair. recovery was a bitch, but i'm able to train fairly regularly as of 6 months post operation.

For those that have had rotator cuff surgery, how was getting back in the swing of things, and what limitations do you now have. I plan on laying off of all barbell work for a good while, and taking it easy on shoulder days--quite the opposite of what i was doing before the injury...live and learn.

Also, the surgeon knew i was into weightlifting/bodybuilding, and said he tightened up the joint a bit more than usual to allow my shoulder to withstand heavier weight. He said by doing this i would lose a bit of movement (as in not being able to go back as far when throwing a ball) but would gain stability. Anyone ever had/heard of this? Thanks.

Yes, I have had it done when I Exploded my shoulder capsoule. It will limit your ROM. But also make your workouts A-symetric. So you deff. will not workout the same, and your gains with be uneaven for several months untill you adjust pressue and find ways to work with your limits. - IronJunkey
