role model 2 Asian-American lifestyle

im a 16 year old guy, and in my H.S. i see my fair share of Asian kids in my skool. There are a lot of Asians who try to fit into the "white" lifestyle and some who try to fit into the "black" lifestyle. Ex. Some asians hang with whites, listen to Dave Matthews, and wear J Crew.....others hangs with Blaks and Latinos, listen to DMX, and wear Fubu. I have always been fascinated how 1st generation Asian-Americans are so impressionable. any1 got any opinions?

Well this taking on of another culture isn't exclusive to Asians. I might be white, but I might as well be full blooded Asian how I act, I absorb and think anything Asian as really cool, Asian culture, religion, language, music, martial arts, anime, movies, I pretty much date Asian females, I want to move to Japan when I graduate from college, etc. Hell, I've even gone and taken sushi classes before, it's all very fascinating to me (and I'm sure many others), as white and black cultures must be fascinating (maybe not to my extreme but...) to a certain number of Asians.

Maybe in a past life they were white or black or latino and it's coming through. I must have been Japanese in my last life

most of the asian kids i see in my neck of the woods are little punks who are wannabes and drive their import cars and are in severe debt because they put all of their energy/money into the cars. Oh yeah, this includes my younger brother who I've disowned.

so are you saying they should hang out together and make origami and railroads? damn people dont realize that things like clothes and music should have anything to do with culture. whats wrong with hanging with people? people put barriers on these things all the time and its dumb
