When I was in Europe last year, I was exchaning $50 at the exchange office when the cashier told me that my bill isnt quite clean and that she couldnt take it...
I was baffled , no to mention embarrassed, as I got all my cash from my bank in US and I wasnt expecting to have a bill with problems..
What if she was going to call the police?
She wasnt sure if my bill was false or not but she said that it doesnt look very clean....

Chances of getting counterfeit money at a bank is just as good as anywhere else. Someone I know worked at a bank and if they took in a bad bill they got slammed. So, they would just pass it off to the next person who came in.
You don’t need a press anymore with the wide access to 2400DPI color printers. Since you can probably get paper from some art supply stores that sell rag/cotton paper for inkjets. They will have a nice feel to them and snap when you pull them. You just have to figure out the weight.
Just from using my own gear and different papers I can see how you could make some kick ass reproductions. However, I wouldn’t recommend it. First it’s too much damn work. What are you going to make? A few 20s here and there? OK, now what? Move on to 100s? Please, you’re going to get flagged sooner or later. Plus people love to talk.

ahahahha. i wouldnt bother attempting it. you don't necessarily need an offset printer anymore, like rtemple said, an inkjet would probably suffice for most of the morons working in america. buuuut, unless you're damn good w/ photoshop your template will suck and inkjets can't replicate microprint. most lasers cant either. dont even bother using a scan as your template. colormatching would be a biotch as well.

I saw a Dateline or 20/20 something about counterfeiting with gangs, straight from the hood. lol they used regular printers. They were interviewing these gang members with dufflebags of cash, there was like 40 or 60 thousand in the bag, or they make that much per month. It was a while ago,I forget the exact details.
They give the gang members or just "people" that are willing... about $500 and tell them to go spend 2 or 300 of it and they want back 2 or 300 in REAL cash. It seemed to have been working for those guys at the time.
Sure it`s a matter of time they become a statistic, but DAMN I was watching with my jaw dropped at all that cash. I work so hard for every dollar and these PUNKS are printing unlimited amounts.
