i got it, supposedly from wrestling, and i got kicked outta practice and i have no idea what im supposed to do...does anyone know any way to cure it, if it spreads, what i need to be worried about etc...

mega karma for help, thanks

uhh, fuck dr...

i did some googleresearch and it turns out u can use tinactin and i have that...so i washed myself and sprayed...any input?

Ringworm is actually a fungus that grows in a circular pattern

Any STRONG dandruff shampoo will get rid of mild cases of it.

It a really minor thing dont stress it... try the shampoo and if it doesnt go away... just go see your doc.

its hard to get an appt at my dr, and my mom is out of town sos my dad, dad comes home late tonight, probably wont be able to get to a dr at least till saturday maybe even monday...

lamisil AT will work better than tinactin, and just about anything else. if you get it really bad, you'll have to go on Lamisil Oral (prescription) to get rid of it.

is lamasil AT prescription? like can i just go up to cvs and get it, and how expensive is it?

i wanna try and avoid prescription stuff, and the dr all together

lamisil AT is over the counter. it's a topical spray.....costs about 10 bucks. cvs should have it.

sorry i was looking on cvs.com...and like you said, thanks alot dude, i was about to come back and give u karma:D :)

but because you were greedy, FUCK YOU!

Lamisil should be your choice.

tinactin, selsen blue (dandruff shampoo), Lotrimin.... all work, but take a long time.

IT CAN SPREAD EASILY!! If you get it in your hairline... kiss your chances goodbye of getting rid of it without going to the Dr and getting Lamisil oral tabs. (Which are like $3 per tab) One guy I know battled it for over 2 years with the various sprays and creams. He would get it cleared in one spot, and it would just move. When they clear up, they still leave behind a pale circle for months. He looked like a giraffe. So don't touch it. If it is on your face, be very careful when shaving as you can easily make it ooze (worse than it normally does) and spread over your body when you wash your face.

When you use Lamisil, MAKE SURE that you CONTINUE to use Lamisil on the spot and surrounding area for

ringworm is the fungus the causes athletes foot and jock itch. it is easily cured with over the counter medications. usually sprays.

I lived in a lot of poor countries....

If it is not in your hair or face....use bleach

Water it down and slowly increase the strength over a weeks time

continue to use for a couple of days/week after it is gone to ensure that you have gotten it all. *important*

that should clear it up

just don't touch it....if it gets to your special area, you'll get jock itch.....it's a fungus, not a virus so it's not permanent. once it gets into the bloodstream, it has to be treated with the oral tabs, which is why AAP's buddy couldn't get rid of it with topicals.

it can also cause nail fungus, and once it's under there, it will probably have to be treated with the tabs as well.

well, if my legs in my pants, and it touches my pants, and then that part of my pants touches a different part of my leg, what happens with that?

herpes is a virus. ringworm is a fungus. you can completely, and quite easily, eridicatge ringworm. i am not sure why you are so scared about this whole thing sublime.

herpes can be controlled with antivirals but once you have it you are stuck with it forever.

It is a fungus that will spread if you scratch and touch other parts of your body.

Yes, your special “little fellow” can get it also. If it is just on your leg…don’t sweat it…it is common there. Use the bleach and dilute it so it won't irritate your skin and increase the strength over a week continue using it even after all signs of it are gone.

Trust me bleach will work... just as good as any topical

im worried about it because i wanna get rid of it as fast and easily as possible, and wondering if i can wrestle at all again this season

alright, im gunna get lamisil

i appreciate all yalls help, and ill quit being such a pussy about it:D

-alright ill let this thread die now:(

It is not permanent... it took my friend so long mainly because he only applied it until it went away and not the 2 weeks afterwards. And he got it in his hairline where it just infected itself.

You really only need about 3 weeks to clear it up completely and permanently if you follow the guidelines.

bleach is a quick solution. It will burn though. If you are looking for a slower but less painful approach go with the Lamisil or Lotrimin. After you get out of the shower, take a hair dryer to it for a while.

man that kind of scare happened several times a year where i wrestled in high school. buddy you best get to fixin it or its gonna be a long season.

that is both bad and good.

Covering it keeps it from contacting other areas and spreading, but it creates a good environment for the fungus to grow. I suggest cover it. Hair dry it for a few minutes at least three times a day. Re-cover it w/ a fresh covering each time.
