lil wayne, ever listen to his older stuff?
like the carter one and two? suprisingly good
worth a listen and it changed my image

yeah not so much into soulja slim.
sucks he's dead though...and we on fire-best hot boys song (they mostly suck imo)

I used to listen to the Hot Boys in high school lmao, and like redshirt also the other cash money stuff. It's funny because if you listen to those early albums you'd never think lil wayne would be the one who blew up.

I used to think he was pretty wack..tha block is hot was so gay i went out of my way to avoid everything lil wayne until i heard Fireman on tha carter II and couldn't resist.

I actually think he is still getting better and better lyrically, but tha carter II is probably where he had the best combination of both lyrics and not being a faggot like he is now.

yeah there definitely were some shitty hot boys tracks.. pretty crazy to think that wayne was only 15 when most of that shit came out though. i still love juve though.

i listen to 90% mixtapes nowadays.. a lot of the hottest tracks made never get released for one reason or another (generally $$$)

bg was about 18 at the time, imo he had the most lyrical skill.
he's a basehead and he just got popped for gun possession...he coulda been huge.

eh, i really wasn't even feelin him back then. actually, even less back then. he was like, 14, too. i've listened to his recent shit and while it's still most definitely not "skills" in any form of the term, it serves a purpose (club banger) and is fun to listen to when you're drivin around high as fuck and feelin alright. still has better lyrical skills than kanye.

some of his early shit was fairly good

I grew up on RUN DMC, Beastie Boys, Gangstar and such
