Red Dead: Redemption to get 30 minute show on Fox this Saturday night

Red Dead Redemption is one of the very finest games of 2010, and now the game is getting on TV this weekend. This Saturday late evening – midnight, to be exact – on Fox, there will be a 30-minute machinima made with all the in-game assets from Red Dead Redemption.

This is Rockstar's description of it:

The 30 minute short film, created and directed by John Hillcoat (the director of The Proposition and The Road), chronicles a slice-in-time of protagonist John Marston as he tracks down his former fellow outlaw and friend, Bill Williamson. Along the way, Marston encounters many of Red Dead Redemption's eclectic cast of dreamers, misfits and liars.

Using the world of Red Dead Redemption as a virtual film studio and created entirely with in-game assets and technology, Hillcoat re-imagines Marston’s pursuit of justice and salvation.

The best part about these types of games are the sandbox, do what you want, experimental gameplay. A purchase for me, but when it hits the bargain bin.

just played it for a little bit...Pretty sick so far. Haven't gotten into any missions or anything yet but so far so good.

I've been playing it since it came out


I enjoy it, don't get me wrong, but overrated.

The "sandbox" style isn't shit. You are in the sandbox before you join the actual "gang" fights, where there is legit gang fights but it's not mmporg style like I thought.

The single player seems more appealing so far than the multiplayer.

Multiplayer gets boring.

It's not like you can build a character and tear shit up in sandbox. No one plays in sandbox. It's a staging area where you join different multiplayer games. You are limited to the weapons available in the certain level.

It's fun, but max an hour or two at a time.
