Great news. The Task bar ticker is a great option. It means you'll be kept abreast of things here while surfing other boards too !.
I have it from another BB'ing board I use.
The ticker scrolls accross a small section of the task bar letting you know any new posts on active threads. You simply click on the thread to be brought straight there.
