Rack Pulls

Have been doing heavy rack pulls for a month and have seen great results. Getting good thickness in back. Should I be alternating rack pulls with deadlifts from week to week? Does everyone like rack pulls or should I just stick with deadlifts?
 
I usually work up my weight on full deads until I hit a max out phase then start hitting the rack pulls. I also do them a lot heading into strongman comps to help with some of the events. There isn't anything wrong with alternating them from week to week I just personally prefer phase training.

I think I might take the same approach of working up to max on deads and then do rack pulls, just to try and switch it up. Thanks.
 
Recently I've been doing competition style deads up to a single. Then I go to the rack and pull a few more sets from about 4" below the knee - where the bar starts to slow and stall when doing competition deads.

Competition style deads? what are those
 
if im working on 3rm or 5rm that day on deads ill pick up the rack pulls where i maxed out the deads and go to a 1rm. usually a tick below or right at knee level. i find it to bee too much most times to max on both in one day.

that's not a bad plan. I think I'll start throwing that 1RM in on the rack pulls..
