I believe niggerly is a legit word meaning stingy. So maybe (yes, it's a stretch) the Chinese were discribing the color as stingy browm? LOL. Still funny.

The word to which you are referring is "niggardly." I think that is a pretty far stretch.

Nigger is simply a slang word made up by American slave owners and klan members who had/have a deep hate on for all Africans with black skin so stop trying to figure shit out.
As a kid growing up, we tried every way to get back at the white kids but no matter what words we used they were not bothered. The one and only way to deal with them calling us nigger was to beat the living shit out of them...that worked just fine. Of course as Canadians we didnt have guns so we had to use our feet and hands.
To this day, it (violence) is still a very effective way to let a white person know you don't appreciate being called a nigger!

also: to anyone who laughs at her not being comfortable with the couch in her home...i lol @ your lol. pretty easy to discount someone else's perspective, especially if it has almost nothing to do with yours. in the end, we're not all perfectly-evolved beings who are unaffected by "mere words."

I think that initially "nigger" was not derogatory but became used as such in the 1800's. That is my understanding, anyway.heavy_duty said:
