r-ala and carbs

aight people...

I was wondering if anyone out there knows where I can get a chart or a list of (everday type) of foods that show me there nutritional value...

I am going to be implementing R-ala into my diet... and I know if u dont take enuff carbs when taking R-ala you could possibly feel light headed and pass out (reason is cuz that it can clear literally all your blood sugar out, leaving you feeling hypoglycemic.).

well I wanna avoid passing out (lol)

So i would like to put together a nice list of different foods out there that have a nice amount of carbs in it.

so I can change it up a bit (ya know)

aight
thanks

Look at the Glycemic list, it will tell you the glycemic ratios for a certain food.

ive decided to stop taking r-ala post workout..it seems pointless..you need those carbs to repair muscle - so why cut them out.

for those taking r-ala daily..what does you diet look like - or do most people take it only when on refeed/cheat days?

.....

do you mean you need insulin to repair muscle?

because taking r-ala with carbs post wokout.. INCREASES their uptake..

??

HUH?! what's the reason for that now?

R-ala will drastically INCREASE the uptake of glucose by the MUSCLE ; thus, increasing muscle anabolism. It goes down to the mitochondria level. ALA is highly beneficial post workout.

I am ASSuming his thinking is that he would rather have the insulin spike post workout to supress cortisol. Taking the r-ala should decrease the insulin response to the carbs.

Insulin does NOT supress cortiso, that's another MYTH of bodybuilding.

OK, SO the bottom line is..take r-ala post workout- as the carbs replenish muscle, without the effect of the spike

In a way......the R-ALA will help maximize the glucose transport into the muscle, but I do not know what you mean by "w/o the effect of the spike". That has nothing to do w/ it.

by the spike, i meant that you dont get the typical carb crash after the hi gi foods because of the r-ala taking prior to the meal. isnt this correct?

Hmmm, I doubt that....ALA can bring about hypoglycemia, so that should be a sign of a crash. Overall, that part of ALA is not well studied.
