I learned never to raise a kid in such a strict religeon. Because, her sister rebelled and did drugs and had 5 kids w/5 dads. Her brother was juiced to the gills and lost everything to coke. And, most her friends did the same. They were put under too much preasure and were forced into the real world too niave.

This is not "bullshit"! Have you ever read a Fucking WatchTower? I used to read those and last my ass off. Almost every edition they would have something like a girl who went to a worldly party and every on was on coke and doing wild shit. She does one hit off pot and she ruins whole life. (Of course, in the pic it would show her at the party talking to a guy w/long hair and leather coat)

I true JDub is not allowed to associate w/worldly people. So, all the ones I knew all assume we were all fucked up. (especially after reading those watchtowers)

I'm not bad mouthing JDUBs. I have relatives who are 7th day adventist and they are very simmilar. They assumed I did drugs etc, bc I wasnt 7th day.

You are right its not just religions a parent sheltering her kid will do the same thing.

I was always raised to not let Jehovahs in my house, when i was a kid, my mom would be polite but tell them shes not interested(im missionary baptist)
Now, when they try to come in, they usually do it alot around christmastime, and they try to hand me a brochure but as they do this , i say, what denomination are u? and they say Jehovahs and i politely say thanks but no thanks

but if the baptist around here were as devout as Jehovahs around here, that would be good....but they dont do that.

But they have very solid family values, and that speaks strongly to me personally as a single father.

I married into a Mormon family. My wife and her brothers got out of the church as soon as they were out of the house but her parents are still avid members. It was pretty strange having to hear about some of the shit they do, garments and baptisms for the dead and stuff, but the more I thought about it, every religion has things that freak me out. I am not religious in any way at this point in my life by the way. Even the whole communion thing is pretty freaky when you sit back and think about it. Eating his flesh and drinking his blood? That doesn't seem strange to anyone else???? But as long as you are happy and don't push it on me, I could care less what religion you believe. I went to high school with a Jehovah and i know she wasn't really thrilled about the whole thing. She always felt like an outsider in our class.
