Question for someone who just sarted working out

I've been working out for about 2 months, and i just bought EAS 100% Whey Protein, but i'm not really sure when i should take it. I work out about 5 days a week. Anyone wanna help me out here?
 
post workout is a good time to take it. heck anytime is good except right before bed whey isnt the best. make sure you get plenty of protein other than the powder. powder is great and necessary but it can't be your main source of protein.
 
The most important time would be post workout for muscle rebuilding. Depending on what your gains are, your weight and your desired weight would be the other parts needed to equate the amount of protein in grams that would be sufficiant for your needs.
 
Well i'm about 6'0 and like 197. I wouldnt mind loseing a little bit of weight to. I'd like to get it down to maybe 190
 
How often do you workout and to what degree ie powerlifting, light weight lifting, progression in weight and reps. How many times a week? Running any other supps?
 
I work out monday to friday, Anywhere between an hour and a half to 2 hours a day, weekends off. I'd say i do progression in weight and reps, and i do do a bit of running and cycling

If you wanna loose weight, shorten your rest between sets to 30seconds. this will also keep you in the gym for 30 minutes or so, depending on stretching and warming up.

get a good diet and sleep..also think about getting some creatine down the line it will make u hold water.. so u need 64-100oz of water when takin it.. i put on 19lbs when i took it ..when u buy it dont go to GNC(way over priced) look around ur town for a vitamine shoppe or something like that they will be 3x cheaper
 
o ya haha take the protein post work outs or hell whenever protein is just all around good for u during the day
 
No more than an hour after a workout and mabey with breakfast depending what you eat in the morning. It's good to take it anytime you feel like you need it as long as you get protein from other sources other than shakes.
 
Don't think that your blender can only make protein shakes. I started thinking about protein shakes as soup and came up with a lot of ideas to make up in the blender. V8 and a can of tuna or chicken makes a quick fix of protein and it's good for you. You can also mix whey protein with cranberry juice or orange juice to mix things up. Just make sure your intake is about 1.5 grams protein per pound body weight. Spread your feedings out over the time you are awake and don't forget to eat a slow digesting protein before bed. I eat cottage cheese with blue berries before bed. I heat it up in the microwave and sweeten with Slenda. Hot out of the microwave it's like hot pudding.

if you can, you shoud get your protien from natural sources, like tuna or chicken for instance. if you can't get your recomended amount then you should get it from your beloved protien shakes. But be advised (from what i have read) you piss most of it out anyway...

www.supplementdirect.com has excellent prices and good products. Thats where I get my Whey and Creatine... and Dextrose and Glutamine from.

If you buy anything from GNC youre just throwing money out the window.

Im currently using SupplementDirect Creatine Mono. and I like it. Going to be switching to PureCEE whenever I finish the bag I currently have. I've heard nothing but good things about PureCEE.

Welcome...this will probably get moved to the diet forum...so if you dont see it in here after a while...just check in there...as far as your question you would want to get at least 50mg of protein right after you finish working out, getting dextrose and glutamine to add to your PWO (post workout) shake would help as well...personally I pound down a shake first thing when i wake up also..unless doing AM cardio
