After chapperoning this trip to the Pumpkin Patch with my daughter's school:

I came back to the school office to "sign out". I also had my 4.5year old son with me. In the rush of everything I didn't notice that he had brought his small, bright green and orange plastic toy gun along.

We got a very stern talking to from the school administration. So, when they say it's a "GUN FREE ZONE" they're not kidding around! Sheesh!

The counselor was like, "Young man! Young man! Are you a student here?" I said, "Nope! He's a future student, heehee!" Then I saw his gun and was like crap. I feel like such a criminal.

This little guy was my boyfriend for the whole day! I volunteered in the class yesterday to help the kids with their "journals" (WTH knew kindergartner's could journal crap but they CAN) and he just got attatched to me.

My own two biological kiddos didn't care though. They let him have me. They were like Whatever!

CM those kindergarteners can really take a toll on you cant they? i remember when my son was in kindergarten, i chaperones a trip to Exploration Station or whatever the place was called. wow. that was exhausting. i totally skipped the gym that night b/c i was too tired LOL!

They are so crazy about that shit now. When I was in grade school, like '94 I remember I got caught with a cap gun that looked completely real. No orange or red anywhere on it.

The principal took it from me at the beginning of the day. Around the end of school, he poked his head back in door to get my attention, then pointed the gun at me and fired it, laughing his ass off because I looked scared. Then he gave it back to me.

Kids get expelled for bringing shit like that now.

These kids really are under pressure to be awesome and their days are FULL of learning. This school is awesome but I'll tell you what, they are not messing around when it comes to educating them.
