What a selection this place is great GOOD prices and love the custom protein lab! Lets here from EF What type of Protein do you use? bovine plasma, isolate, concentrate, egg, casien, soy etc....

I'm assuming most people use a combination of these. I personally have everything on the list in my diet. The Big Blast alone has Super Bovine, Isolate and Whole Egg.

Their prices are too high per/lb on some of their products.

Let em know bro and I'll pass it on.

As for BIG BLAST, I really must come to its defense. It isn't the cheapest protein but it isn't the most expensive and it blows the doors off of anything else in terms of actual results.

What do you think of hydrolized bro? I know it tastes like garbage, but is it worth the extra $$$ to throw it in like as 20% of a mix?

For those that don't know what hydrolized is, I'll explain.

Once a whey protein has gone through isolate proccess, th eentire amino peptide chain's integrity is still in tact.

Hydrolyazation breaks down the aminos acid chains to simpler peptide bonds. Like BCAA's, but it is the complete amino profile of the protein.

The advantage is that the absorption of the aminos happens much quicker becaue the peptide bonds don't have to be broken down from an entie chain.

So, is it worth it? It costs $$$$ no matter where you get it.

Except for super plasma, hydroyzed is the very best source of protein. It's pre digested and utilized to a much greater degree than "food" protein. But bro, honestly, you don't want it. It tastes like ass. It'll ruin whatever you mix it with.

Years ago, ULTIMATE NUTRITIOn made animo capsules made from hydroyzed protein and they were great. Caps are the only way to get that stuff down. I'm surprised more companies don't do that. But in a drink? Dude, imagine a crack whore pissing in your shake. That's what hydrolyzed is like.

Well, I use powdered BCAA's and the bitter taste is very strong. Tastes awful. I don't mind 10gm mixed with a shake though. I definitely notice the strong bitterness, but whatever. My last batch of protein I ordered I forgot to have sweetened, it tasted like butthole.

If hydrolyzed tastes similar to BCAA's n the strong bitterness category, I don't care. I'm used to it. Taste isn't too big of an issue. If 20% of the mix would be beneficial for absorption and gains, I am willing to do it.

BCAA's are honey compared to hydrolyzed protein.

But hey, if you're hardcore, get a pound, chug it down and see yourself. There's a good chance you'll notice gains on it if the rest of the diet and training is in line. Then again, you'll definitely see gains with BIG BLAST and it's fucking delicious. So...your call.

Any chance of getting me 10 lbs of free bovine plasma protein?

Sorry bro, people ask me that all the time but I have nothing to do with distribution. It's not my company. It's my formula and I get a commission on sales and that's it. I even have to buy my own! (At cost, but still...)

At any rate, I must reiterate, BIG BLAST isn't very expensive. It cost less than most of the stuff you'd get at GNC. If you want budget shit get Optimum Nutrition or some soy. Like theemporer said, it's the best, and if you want the best, ya gonna hafta spend an extra 3 bucks a pound. :) Hey, ironasylum uses it and I don;t know too many people who'd argue with him. He's fucking badass huge!

Anyone ever try Myozene by Bioquest. This has hydrolyzed protein, and some of the supp companies brag to no end about it. When I priced it, the cost is about 45-50 bucks for 16 servings (a serving has 25g protein and 60g carbs mainly from dextrose) This seems very expensive for a lot of sugar and a little protein. Also most of the reviews say it tastes awful even with all that sugar in it. Unless someone can tell me they are getting phenominal results from this, I'll stick to Big blast.

hydrolized goes for about 16-18 bucks per pound. Not cheap. Though, very effective so I understand. I have a 35%/65% mix of hydrolized and Whey Isolate on the way. It'll have 18 grams of hydrolized whey per 2 scoops, which is how much I do PWO. 27.5 grams protein total per scoop.

Oh, and I ordered some beef protein isolate from TrueProtein and I will report on that once I get to try it.

If it really sucks, add some extra whey to it. If it's chocolate, extra cocoa will mask the taste also. That shouldn't be too bad.

I'm curious about the beef. Weider made a beef protein in the 80's. It didn't catch on.

How about the pepto-pro? I've been using that for the past few months as my post-workout shake, I mix it with a scoop of sambazon Acai powder and 5g glutamine.

Nelson should I be buying it? Is it better than any of the other proteins? The way I understood it was it is even smaller than hydrolyzed and gets absorbed faster post-workout, is that true? Or am I just paying too much for something I don't need.

pepto-pro? the hydrolized casein that costs $29/lb?

I would at least just use hydrolyzed whey if you are willing to spend more on protein. Peptopro can't be that much better.

Keep in mind, the biggest bodybuilders in the 70's and 80's didn't have any of this stuff and they were monsters. They ate real food. You don't need to spend ridiculous amounts for protein powder.

I will be using my hydrolyzed mix strictly post workout so I don't go through a ton of it quickly.

You can't compare the genetic elite of any generation to anyone else. Sandow didn't have steroids and most guys will never look that good no matter how much steroids they take. That doesn't mean steroids don't work. Hell, VITAMINS weren't even invented in Sandpw's time! (Then again, average height was about 5'7" )

Today's supplements are a tremendous advantage.

I never used the pepto pro. If it's a good tasting hydrolyzed it's worthwhile, but yeah, the price is kinda outrageous.

Oh, no doubt they were the gentic elite. What I meant was that real food is what sustained such muscle size and should be adequate for reaching our own potentials.

And, yes todays supplementation is very advantageous. I'm not downing protein broseph, I love it and would be smaller without it. It was to emphasize the point that you don't need to go overboard with very pricey stuff to achieve a good physique.

Bro check out ProSource's NytroWhey Ultra. It has Isolate, Hydrolyzed, and Bovine Serum Albumin plus your good fats and a great amino acid profile at a descent price. It's my preworkout drink of choice. Doesn't taste that bad.

Yeah, but they don't list the dosages. You can have a drop of an ingredient in something and list it as part of a "blend." I think whenever dosages aren't listed, consider it an inferior product. And it kinda tastes like shit.

And what are you saving on this? 2 bucks a pound?

True...I agree with how they don't list the percentage dosage which I don't like but usually when that is the case I go from the first ingredient down...meaning the first ingredient is the highest percentage or so I thought. As far price....yea now that I look it's not that much cheaper, but, I could use 2 servings of it plus a glass of milk and it would be close to big blast as far as calories and protein which would give me 16 servings instead of 6. I prefer big blast...but I feel this protein is pretty descent.
