Props to Needsize for revealing his ab routine

ever since i joined EF in 2001, needsize has answered every question i had and looked a brother plenty of times, he should definantly be considered for mod!

thanks guys, let me know how the ab routine works for you bro...enjoy your pain

Its a routine I learned from a powerlifter (who has a 900 competition squat) to build up core strength. basically, grab a decline bench and ramp it up so that you've got at least a 60 degree or more angle, really steep. Slowly lower yourself about 1/2 way down, to where you really feel resistance, then hold in that position for a slow count of 5, then bring yourself back up. thats one rep, start with 5x5 reps, then if you can do all that, next workout either adds more reps or weight. It doesnt sound like much, but if you do all 5 sets, with a slow 5 count on each rep, you'll be shaking like a leaf by the time you are done. I do that 1x per week, and thats the only ab routine I've done for the past 5 or so years. I do 5 sets of 8-10 reps with a 45lb plate, and thats the whole thing. The cool thing is that it helps your deadlift and squat as well.

Dig the routine. I've adopted it as my own :)
I can't quite get all 5 sets with the incline that high though.
about 50-55 degrees is as high as I can go. I'll get 60 in a few weeks though.

i might shit in my shorts with the 45 plate, ill start off using nothing then work my way up 25# then 35# hopefully ill be able to use the 45# er

if you want abs you'll shit in your shorts...jk, I started off with no weight myself and built up over time. After 5 sets with no weight, trust me, you'll feel it

I squeeze my abs when i'm taking a dump; best ab routine ever.
Seriously, Legendary Abs from Health For Life.

Seriously though, I never train abs, but I do keep them tight on all excersizes. Every couple months when I do a set of crunches I get wicked cramping!

Abs look pretty good for not working them Galaxy. I know it's not because of the jerking off routine because mine don't look like that! :FRlol:

I will definetly try this, as everyone seems to like it and you do have some impressive abs. Do you feel that this is the difference maker for you, or did you have as good of abs as you do now 5 years ago.

Also, are you saying you do nothing for the obliques?

Nobody should train obliques directly. They get enough indirect stimulation and development just makes your waist look wide.

I had almost no abs when I started this approach, and its been the only routine I've done for 5 years so I can honestly say its responsible for my abs. As for obliques/intercostals, I have killer ones that blew everyone else off stage, and I have done nothing to train them directly. All I ever do is heavy deadlifts and squats with no belt
