precusors, are they anabolic?

if so then why are mods moving questions about them to the supplements board?

This is the anabolic board isn't it? I don't personally like precursors for the same reasons most of you don't - but if they are anabolic why are we moving them to a supplements board?

I don't think that is right - especially when we allow some of the other junk on this board to stay. You could get really strict and move questions about ancillaries to other places as well, but come on.

I have never posted a question about them, but I have seen a few that have been moved. Maybe they should rename it to the Streroids and not precursors board...

Every single one of the "pro-hormones" and "pro-steroids" are "real" steroids. They were called precursors as a marketing ploy to keep them from getting undue scrutiny from the authorities. Check out Vida et al, "Androgens and Anabolics." You can debate their efficacy to side effects ratio but it doesn't change the fact they are legitimate steroids. FYI, the definition of a steroid is fairly broad;

American Heritage Science Dictionary
steroid (stěr'oid') Pronunciation Key
Any of a large class of organic compounds having as a basis 17 carbon atoms arranged in four rings fused together. Steroids include many biologically important compounds, including cholesterol and other sterols, the sex hormones (such as testosterone and estrogen), bile acids, adrenal hormones, plant alkaloids, and certain forms of vitamins.

Are precursors anabolic? Hmm...

I believe anything past the point of pregnenolone is anabolic (to a slight degree either directly or indirectly), and then anything past DHEA begins to have androgenic properties…
