Pre-contest Dieting - Need Tips

cseg - good luck on prep for your show! 16 weeks will give you time to be ready. Generally you want to hit your goal body fat a week or two out from the show so you can then maintain it. Especially for women it seems very hard to get your whole body to come in correctly (e.g. lean out & build up evenly) at contest time. I went into my first body building show at 8-9% and was very happy w/ my upper body, but my lower body could've used another 4-5 weeks of dieting. That's when I realized that it is more important to match a show w/ your body when you are ready than trying to force your body to meet a competition date.

Regardless of the outcome of your show, you will know that you have made a fantastic achievement in sculpting your body and your health to where you are, but at contest time , they don't judge you on where you came from - only how you look at that moment on stage.
