I'm curious as to what you all like best in terms of back width and back thickness exercises. Go ahead and post what you do.

my back is owed to the close grip lat pulldown and the bent over dumbell rows.

my back workout is always deadlifts, bent rows, heavy dumbell rows. Occasionally a t-bar or pulldown. pretty basic.

right now i use BB row, deadlift, pullups, and i just started using reverse grip pulldowns.. i like those alot.. in the summer i do alot of t bar rows.

Rack Deads from below the knee, Bent Over rows, Wide Grip Chin-ups.... Waiting for my knee to get better to start doing cleans too!

i agree with most of the ppl here:

great back = (deadlifts + weighted pullups)

hit the deadlifts heavy, vary your grips with the pullups/chinups, and perhaps finish off with some rowing-type exercise and you will be set. it's really quite simple.

you cant go wrong with pullups
install a pullup bar in a doorway in your house and you are gauranteed to add some width to your back in no time

Back width: A vertical pull
Back thickness: A horizontal pull

The specifics are dictated according to equipment availability and personal preference.

Right now my vertical pull is Pullups +/- weight, and my horizontal pull is supported DB Rows.
