Post workout Trauma!

How many people here have worked their selves so hard that it felt like you were getting the flu for two days after?I hit my freakin legs so hard tuesday I almost puked and passed out,and now I feel like shit!God I fuckin love it!!! :chomp:

Yes, I get that feeling sometimes. If I stuff my face with extra calories and take vitamin c and multi vitamins and get a good night's sleep I usually feel fine.

Hell, everytime I do legs I feel like I'm gonna puke. If you don't get dizzy doing legs you've gotta up the intensity. My gym actually has a puke bucket by the squat rack.

Only get like that once and a while, I thought it was just me, the kids i know at the gym dont even do legs, most that do dont do squats, Thats what i get for switchin to Bally's

I used to do such heavy leg WO that makes you fell like puling but I no longer do because I'm afraid it is too much for your body to handle

If you enter such a catabolic state that even a good recovery + postworkout meals won't enable to grow/build new muscle, what's the point ?

as long as your legs dont cramp up then you should be fine, a lot of ppl puke when doing legs.althoug i do agree that if it fucks you up that much then it cant be good.

I had a shitty leg workout tonight and this thread made my legs feel like losers, I did GM's really heavy on Wednesday, and today (Friday) I could barley go heavy on them I felt like a wimp and even light squats crushed my ass, my lower back was soo tight and pumped I could barley stand upright, also my hams where half assed in the bag, I felt so bad !!!! I wont be doing GM's again on a wednesday, on the bright side I guess I worked out my hams twice this week !

I used to train legs to the point of vomitting/dry heaving weekly for years. I didnt need squats to accomplish that. HEAVY leg presses to failure was the main part of those routines. It would definately effect my eating for some hours afterwards, but by the next day all that was left was the soreness. Often lasting a full week. Feeling sick and things like that, I never really feel that good anyway, so it might go unnoticed.

I've only vomited twice while doing any kind of training. The first was after I had passed the basic Navy Seal physical fitness test in Navy bootcamp(no I am not a navy seal and I did not go through the training). The second was after my boxing coach had me do 3 back to back 1 minute all out slugfests on the heavy bag. Those 2 made me puke. I have felt close to puking several times before, and just this last week I felt close to it, but it didn't happen. I don't think puking means anything really and I don't use it as a measuring stick for whether or not I worked hard in the gym. As for training so hard that you fee lcrappy the next day after or 2, well I feel that's really counter-productive. I used to train so frickin hard on just 1 set, that one set was a masochists nightmare kind of set, that it would take my CNS 8-9 days to recover from it. I used to think that was the way until after about 6 months of trianing I realized that I had gotten alot stronger, but my muscles weren't much more developed than when I started training that way. Lessons learned, you can train TOO hard, you can trian too little, and you can train too infrequently. I train myself to what I feel is enough, or hard enough.
