i think my right shoulder is getting infected. its 5 days after the injection and i feel sweeling and itching. i just got out of the army and got into a new job i wont be covered for about another month and 2 or 3 weeks. is there somewhere ican go where it wont cost me a furtune?....im not panicing yet although i do have all the signs besides redness and a fever.

hit up the urgent care or walk in clinic....wont cost that much..30-50 dollars for the visit plus whatever meds they prescribe....youll probably get out for 100.00 or less.

If you make sure they know you dont have any insurance they can sometimes hook you up with enough samples to cover your prescription..if not they will prescribe generic which is cheaper.

bump u want to go for samples bro or justgo to er and tell em you got bit by a spider or you rubbed into a nail or somethin and they will bill you u can worry bout it later and if u dont pay itll go on ur credit report but if u dispute it properly they will delete the account from ur credit report this is how to STICK IT TO THE MAN and LIVE FREE!!!!!!

biceps is there any heat where it is swollen or any redness at all. if not it is not an infection. ive had painful lumps that lasted 14 days. like i said without redness or heat it is not infected probably just a bad shot. you can go to the doc now and they will give you cephulaxen, which is an antibiotic and it will reduce swelling and get rid of the pain. however, you can tough it out if its not an infection

Yeah-hit the urgent care. I had a 50 cc abcess taken care of a few yrs back. I got it drained and a shot of antibiotics as a kick start to fight the infection. Don't be scared to tell them the truth-they won't give a shit. I also got a RX for Amoxycillin that I didn't fill. Instead I went to the pet store and bought the Amoxycillin for fish. A lot of people don't know this, but fish meds are the exact same thing. Vet RX companies buy broken pills from major RX companies and re-tab them for sale for pets(no fda approval needed). Buying these instead of filling your RX will save you about 75%. I've used fish meds 5-6 times over the past 4-5 yrs for the flu, etc. I know quite a few other peeps w/o insurance that have done the same thing many times with great results. Someone here is bound to cry bullshit on my part, but I swear to God I'm being serious. Just make sure that you use the same mgs prescribed daily and take them until they're gone. The brand I buy is Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Inc. 8 pills (250 mgs-I think) cost about $4. Don't expect any Dr. to back me up on this since they receive $$$ kickbacks from the RX companies for pushhing their products. If the general public was aware of this the RX industry would lose their a$$e$. Seriously, most guys here will take vet gear from 3rd world countries-why should using american made anti biotics be any different? BTW-my friend that was in Desert Storm is the one that told me to do this. When they were over there and anti biotics were in short supply, they were issued fish med anti biotics because they were easier to obtain.

Yes, it's true. You can go in to any fish store and buy antibiotics that work just fine. Preferably one that sells expensive salt water fish.

Thanks bro-the last time I suggested this here I was hit with a barrage of skepticism as if I was leading you all down the primrose.

Oh yeah-to the thread poster- If you happen to live in some small podunk town where everyone knows each other, you might wanna make a drive to another town's urgent care center for privacy reasons. In small towns people talk too much. Drs are supposed to have patient confidentiality ethics-but that doesn't mean some gossiping candystriper/nurse/receptionist won't run her mouth to someone about your treatment for those evil steroids.

Also, if it's red, itchy, and swelling get your ass to the DR asap-otherwise you could get a Staph infection that could really fuck you up or even kill you. My friend waited too long for a bad injection is his calf-he got Staph, was hospitalized for a week, lost 40 lbs, and incurred a huge Dr bill.

I'm sure using an illegal drug that caused this problem would rise privacy issues. Probably even moreso if he tried to lie about it. Using roids is a felony-I'd rather spend the $$$ than have big brother crawling up my ass with a microscope-especially with the elevated roid media hype lately.

I've been doing this for years or you can get cephylegin{sp},clovamox or baytril from a vet all good stuff.

I just returned from the Dr today getting an abcess cut open on my forearm, it was almost the size of a Quarter proluding 1/4 inch up out of the skin, you will know when you have one, this is my first (after all these years..yeah!) My entire arm had swollen, turned red and was throbbing like a bitch!

I told him a wasp had bitten me at the races saturday next to the trash cans, he replied that folks don't realise that bites like that carry what the bug had been on (Rotten food, doggie doo...etc)
Goes to show stuff does happen sometime no matter how careful you are.

this was my 4th inj out of that vial so its not the gear.

too late to go to the VA? you should be eligible for some kinda help. my dad never went to vietnam but was on active duty while it was going on. now he has a chronic illness not at all related to his service and he gets his meds paid for. you might want to check into it. there may be other things involved. they don't really tell you shit like this.

im good guys it went away....ive had knots before they felt different thats why i though it was an abcess....it was really itchy. thanks to everyone
