come on then guys and girls, i want to know how old you were when you started bb as a lifestyle. also, what made you decide to go at it properly, how old you were when you first used steroids, and why? did you wait ages before trying gear, and was it through choice or because that was the soonest you could find a reliable source lol!

i probably started bb around 15-16 and i thought i was serious for the longest time. my lack of education and experience about the finer points of dieting and training misled me. it wasnt until my middle 20's that all of those things came together and that is truly when i believe it took the lifestyle seriously.

i never took steroids and i started yesterday, i'm 16 in my profile pic

15-16. I was 145 and 6'2" tall!

I didn't get my diet in check until I was in the army and a friend (who was the most genetically gifted person I every met - large and cut and drug free) took me under his wing and taught me to eat. My weight went from 160 to about 190 in a year. And I could do a 5k in under 16 minutes.

i see what you mean, many people start lifting in their teens, but IMO at that age, most of the time its not serious, just so you can say "yeah, im a man, i lift weights" even though they have no idea what their doing. i know this because i was one of those teens lol, i first went to the gym when i was about 15, because some of the other guys in my school were, and it just seemed 'cool'
so there i was, skinny and not a pube on me, down the gym, doing all the resistance machines (free weights scared me and there was a sign-anyone caught dropping weights will be banned!) and i didnt even know how to do them properly. surrounded by huge, herculean guys, i had no idea how these guys got so big!
but now when i see those kids down the gym, i don't just tut and think 'stupid kids, dont have a clue' because they remind me of me, all they need is some direction, and without trying to act like i know it all (far from it!) i try to help them. i wish someone had helped me at that age, anyone who learns to train properly at that age and applies it has got an invaluable headstart.

First serious years started about 90', I was out-of-shape 30 year old, just broke up with a longterm GF. Moved back to my hometown and there was a new gym, made new friends after being gone so long and they were really into diet and some, not much, gear. All we had to go on was that little red book by Dan Duchaine, "The Underground Steroid Handbook". The only source we had was Mexico and whoever had the balls to go.

I dropped from a fat 215 to hard 185 in a few months, kept lifting for 7 years after that. Business, kid, etc started to need my attention, moved away from it till last year. I'm now a young 48...
