Im white, so I am immune to any racial slurs that can be congured up to discriminate against me.

That brings up a good point. Why are people so offended by racial slurs that actually refer to thier race? Are they ashamed to be of that race? It seems that foreigners have an inert instinct to automatically be offended by a racial slur.

Back to the topic.....I think MOD should have a second chance, if he was actually guilty that is.

agreed. i just chatted with MOD via email and got the story from him. he is no computer hacker. a specific mod out there knows the whole story about this but i doubt it will ever come out. MOD has been unjustly served.

George simply wanted to keep us informed and apologize for a lapse in system security.

I for one appreciate the board and George for running it. But I'm alarmed that it took place, system security is no joke.

If this is a solid source of income George, you should consider your software and network assets as actual Money. Protect it, protect your assets/software/hardware et al.

personally, i thought it was a little obvious. who knows? but you did have my email and we could have had a discussion about it there instead of having it on the board. your email could have consisted of more than the one question you asked me. i have had many civilized private conversations with mods about shit to do with the boards. a matter such as this, in my opinion, should have been dealt with elsewhere.

You can "mask" your IP, but you can't change it.

If you have a static connection such as dsl, cable, sat, or lan then your IP is going to be constant.

If you go through and ISP then the last 5-6 digits schema of your IP are going to vary usualy in a range of 255-510 number combos. Depends on how your ISP hands out Subnet IPs

Yes, you can spoof a false IP address. It's quite easy. But as easy as it is, I'm dubious MOD could actually do it.

At this point, it's not a question of who can/can't do what, George should be doing the forensics work to ensure HOW it was done isn't done again.
