Plateau.......EEK!!!

Figures....two weeks before I'm trying to be in the best shape of my life, and I think I have stalled out with my fat loss!!! I have seen great changes for months up until about a week ago, and now I'm feeling like I actually might have gone backwards! (probably haven't, but it's how I feel...)

I have upped my cardio this past week to burn off some fat before Vegas....everything else has stayed the same - weights 6 days a week, eating clean, etc......

This week I am changing things up a little for two weeks. I am doing weights in the morning, and will be doing 45-60 min of cardio each night for two weeks until Vegas. I'm pretty much eating the same (1550 calories a day, usually) - the extra cardio is all I'm changing.

This shouldn't stall me, should it?? Any suggestions on how to break through this plateau and get things rolling in the next two weeks?

Thanks ladies!! :)

Really? I haven't cheated big in a while......hmmmm...maybe some beef nachos from Dos Gringos would help me....:D

I noticed when I was trying to lose fat before, that a big cheat, like a pizza night ,left me feeling lean the next day. Strangely enough.

well, one night isn't going to make you fat, but it could help your metabolism rev up a bit.

I think you are right.....it's hard for me to eat a cheat meal, so I don't really do it like I should....that could definitely be a problem.

Nachos sound good...I say go for it!

Did the fat loss stall before or after increasing the cardio?

You have to have one cheat meal a week. I have mine on Sunday so I can time it with Football. Don't go crazy with it though.
I learned that from one of the guru's who works with the Pro's. It works!

After.....am I not eating enough?

Back up the program. Go back to what you were doing when the fat loss was still happening.

There probably are things you could do to successfully accelerate fat loss a bit, but in your case your body's reaction to the additional cardio would suggest this ain't it.

You could schedule some intermittent fasting if you want to try something to ratchet up the rate a bit.

Rather then a cheat, you could do a structured refeed. It's essentially the same concept as a cheat meal but you control it more then a cheat meal and still count the calories and adjust your macros.

I agree with Willow...more cardio is not always better. I've had that experience too where the weight started coming off again after I cut back cardio. You could push that back for a couple of days and see if that makes any difference as well.

It's hard to adjust myself to realizing that more cardio isn't always better - you'd think I'd know that by now, but I guess a lifetime of habit is hard to totally undo in just a few months.

I have switched up my workout times, and am making sure I am eating enough for this week (another habit I have had to break) - we'll see what happens. I have also added weight to my lifting program.....
