Plane Tickets to Thailand......

So I was thinking about going on vacation to Thailand this summer and I checked ticket prices and they were $2,300 and up. Is this normal price range? Seems pretty high. Has anyone been to Thailand and is this a reasonable price or do you know a place with lower fares? I would be flying out of Possibly Ohio or Kentucky area.

It's on the other side of the world, sounds like a normal price to me. But if you know when you are planning on going you could try booking closer to the time or just watch the prices to see if/when they drop.

I actually try to visit a different country every year and I hear some parts of Thailand are really nice. This is a family vacation by the way. So it would be cheaper to fly out of L.A. I'll check that out. Thanks everyone.

If you like a layed back, tropical paradise style vacation Thailand is sic. Koh Phi Phi is where they filmed the movie 'The Beach" and the whole area is rural but absolutley beautifull. Just stay out of the cities, unless you want to hit up a couple temples real quick, and stay on the coast. Lot's of good reef breaks and the expense's are low once your there. I wouldn't take my kids though, at least not till they are much older.
