Most ppl convicted of the same offense spend less than 24 hrs in jail

Certainly not in America. She was convicted of a series of driving offenses within a short period of time, including DUI and driving on a suspended license. Most PD's take that pretty seriously these days.

driving on suspended license not once but twice

California has the 3 strike rule

Her strike 1 - DUI
Her strike 2 - Driving on Suspended
Her strike 3 - Driving on Suspended = jail time

Then I'd say she did well with just 45 days.

I cant say I'd ever given her any thought one way or the other, but that record shows a lot of irresponsibility.

plus she didn't get the most forgiving judge out there..

California is not a place you want to get a criminal record in

i was thinking of the best solution to the national question of Paris of Hilton. the issue, if you will.

the best answer i can come up with is acid. someone should throw some acid on her face, and then we're done.

Nuts.
Like they were saying like night on CNN, she is getting special treatment, but in the fact they she is getting more jail time than a non-celeb. Most ppl convicted of the same offense spend less than 24 hrs in jail
I feel bad for her, but this may humble her.

She's not getting more jail time than anyone else! People assume this because the offense was "Driving with suspended license".

It is not. Here's how it goes.

At the DUI sentencing, she is sentenced to 45 days in jail. BUT, this jail time is SUSPENDED, and replaced with probation time.

During this probation period, if she gets any unlawful offenses, the SUSPENDED 45 days in jail for the DUI GO INTO EFFECT.

In other words, as long as she stays out of trouble during her probation period, she will never have to actually sit the 45 days in jail she was sentenced to for her DUI.

So thats where the 45 days of jail come in.

Well that's not what the lawyers on CNN were saying last night.
