Pants getting tight

New member
I've been bulking for 3 months now. I've went from 70kg to 78kg. I've noticed a good gain in muscle mass but my waistline is expanding as well.

Was wondering if i should reduce my calorie intake on the whole or just my carbs? I try to restrict my carbs to pasta/potatos/sweet potatos.

Please advice guys.

Sonds like one of two things, either you're getting fat or retaining water, or BOTH. Try dropping carbs a little, that might help. Or look at your diet and see if you have too many hi-gi carbs vs. low-gi.

im glad someone else posted this because i also have this problem.... just reducing some carbs could help?

It's your overall diet, check the carb content: meaning, the types of carbs you take it. The amounts of fat, and the types of fats: healthy or not.

Thanks for the advice Mr X. Guess i will take away carbs just before bed time.

Is there a way to determine if this problem is caused mainly by fat gain or water retention?

yea thanks for the tips....

ive been trying to get rid of my bread intake and at the same time eat more pasta.

but its hard when you come home for 30 mins and have time to make a chicken/turkey sandwich and then leave to go to work.

There is NO real cheap way to know, you could have measured your bf Before the bulking cycle, then during you would simple go and do it again: of course, you would have to do it in a hydro tank for maximum accurace and to take away the sub-coun. water out of the equation. Trust me, when you come off bulking, you'll know how much fat you've gained; plus, you can only gain so much water, I think 10-20lbs. is the MAX.
