Pain Killers & Steroids

I am about 2 weeks into my mass cycle and have developed some pinched nerves in my right upper back.i am at the pont now to where i really need my pain killers that my doc has given to me .is it alright to mix the two. i am not willing to end my cycle so if the 2 don't go well together i will just deal with the pain because i have had pinched nerves in my lower back sence my football day's.i just wouldn't mind something to deal with the pain if i can. any thoughts

What kind of painkillers? I'm pretty sure opiates are alright, at least I've used a few kinds(codeine, oxy codone, hydro morophone) for pain while on with no perceptable problem except what is expected from opiate use. I think I've read that anti-inflamatories can eat away gains through increased cortisol levels or something along those lines.

Pain Killers will not help heal Pinched Nerves or anything like that. They will only take away the pain and in some cases make things worse. You should go see a Chiropractor or someone else in that field and have it treated to avoid anything worse coming about it!!

Definately start with a chiropractor. I slipped a disc back in high school and by doctor thought I was going to need sugery. However my chircopractor felt he might be able to prevent it. I had to be lined up 3 times a week for 6 weeks, but eventually the disc returned to the correct place and stayed. My doctor was very pleased with the results, although not being a fan of chiroprator's himself.

The problem with most opiate derived prescription meds is that they also contain acetaminophen. If mixing this with oral AS you are putting alot of strain on the body that you would be better off avoiding...

they do not ALL contain acetominophen....

A CHIROPRACTOR AND DICLOFENACO(ANTI-INFLAMATORY AND NON STEROIDAL PAIN KILLER OR OPIATE DERIVATE, OPIATES WILL EAT MUSCLE AWAY)

DNIndustry...all painkillers are "illegal" without a prescription, and you can get OC's in 10mg, 20mg, 40mg, and 80mg.

Percodan, oxycodan, demoral, morphine tabs all do not have acetominophen in them..

DDRman.
I know. I was just making a statement.
They were the 1st thing that came to mind.
The 80's made me sick the other day, never again.
:(

haha, i guess and 80 would make you sick!! thats like 16 regular vicodens!! I don't like painkillers, i took them when i blew out my knee for a few weeks, made me constipated and gave me hemmorrhoids

In defense of terminator he said most pain killers containing opiates have acetaminophen in them and his right in that the most commonly prescribed painkillers do.
Go ask you Doc for some Oxycotin. I'm guessing you're not going to get it.

BUT...you can tell him you can't take acetominophen and he'll give you something that has aspirin in place of the acetominophen...or something else, but yes, you are right, hardly any docs will prescribe oc's

THANKS

thank,s for the info like most folks i hate going to the doctor so most of the time i just work through the pain but i will see what a doc's thinks before i take any pain killers .

i have used o/c before, not really for pain however but just to kick back after an intense leg day to watch a movie. I hope its ok to mix these two, i dont't see why not.

Thanks for clearing that up (I ran off to the gym). That's sort of what I was getting at in that most docs will not give anything stronger than vicodin for pain (unless you have serious problems or a nice liberal thinking doctor :) ). But DRRman knows that I would not post misinformation knowingly...he's just keeping me on my toes today ;) .

All opiates come with different mixtures. Eg. Vicodin ES
is 7.5 Hydrocodone / 750 APAP, but u can get a Vicoprofen
7.5 Hydro / 200 Ibuprofen, etc... same for the other opiates
- the chance of your Doc giving u oxycontin is low, unless you
know him or have a good relationship with him. Just my
2 cents.

I'm always in pain, always, it sucks. if it's not my shoulder, it's something else. If I've got any of those high power pain killers or muscle relaxers, I get a bit carried away with them, so for now I stick to tylenol and advil. But... I only take them after my workout, not before. I believe that pain while working out tells you what parts of your body are hurting and if you're all hopped up on Vicodin and not feeling the pain, that doesn't mean you're not causing damage.
