Pain during squats yesterday

Yesterday, i did 100x5 and felt a small pain in my left quad.. It was nothing too bad, so i kept squatting. I did 140x5, 160x5, and 185x5 after that and i still felt the pain, but it didn't keep down my form. I feel it a little bit when i flex it, but besides that it's really nothing. I am training primarily for soccer, so i am going to run every other day (3x a week/lift 3x a week) with Sunday's off. Do you guys think i should stop squatting for a little bit in case this is something bad? I don't want to stop squatting because i have truly come to enjoy the exercise along with its benefits, but i don't want to fuck up my knee before soccer starts, which will only stop me from training hard. Should i switch squats to something like lunges?

Since you were able to continue, I would venture to guess that you are OK. I say that with the caveat that I have never seen you squat, and I have no idea what your form it like. My best guess is that you may have a small fascia tear or just a really over worked muscle. Either way, take a day or two off and get back at it.

Honestly I think you are good to go, when you get more experient you will be able to pinpoint what's some slight pain and what's injury pain, until them go check the thread grubd told you about!

i think that i am going to lay off the squats for a week.... I know the benefits and i love squatting, but the pain was a little more harsh today than it was my last workout. Soccer is my first priority at the moment, so my view on this is better safe than sorry. Are there any other good leg exercises i could try doing like lunges or leg press? If i felt pain during these i would obviously stop, but yeah any suggestions would be awesome!

I had the same thing yesterday, but it was in my upper left quad(thigh?). No matter how heavy or light I went, when I stood up I could feel a slight twinge or pull. It wasn't extremely painful, but it was uncomfortable. I end up working through it though because my form was still spot on. Should I take it easy or keep hitting it hard?

What you need it's good stretch routine for those quads, a good whole body stretching routines solves alot of these issues and possible serious injury, better safe than sorry.
